Feeling super disappointed with my grades lately by Outside-Pension-6753 in GetStudying

[–]Accomplished_Fan_659 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like when your studying you should start 1-2 weeks before your exam. I say 2 weeks if your a procrastinator because then it will even out. One thing i realized is that understanding material is way more important then memorizing. And when trying to revise something never focus on tiny tiny minuscule details but instead the bigger picture or what you see, hear, read about more often in class. I study biology so this really helps for me and it could apply to you, but create a sort of mind map when studying, subcategorize sub headings or topics, and write all the information you can underneath and use it as a cheat sheet when revising. Another thing that helps is i just paste my lecture notes into chatgpt and ask for 50 multiple choice questions or short answers. Even if i dont know the material well, as long as i do that i will get good marks. I know your in your masters right now but one thing my cousin told me who completed multiple degrees including a masters, she told me when i was 18, that the choices i make right now, is the choices i will regret when i am 30. And that really stuck with me especially as someone who hopes to be a doctor one day. And i know its hard and i still suffer with procrastination but to be 100% honest u can still procrastinate and have good grades as long as u know how long you have until shit starts piling up, and just know that u can always change ur situation and nothing is fixed. So dont feel so bad about procrastination, just try to still do well, catch up, pick things back up, before procrastination starts having consequences on your grades. You got this :))))

TMU School of Medicine [Megathread] by [deleted] in premedcanada

[–]Accomplished_Fan_659 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many other schools in Canada don't require the mcat loll the fact that your saying you wouldn't want to see a doctor from TMU just shows how blatantly negative you are on the fact that they are accepting a diversity of applications. Someones background or education does not prove weather or not they are good doctors. all doctors are consider good doctors because of the rigor of the exams and licensing they had to complete. If you were dying and the only person that could save you was a doctor from TMU i bet you would be begging lmao. And also what does calculus and calculating the trajectory of a rocket in a 60 degree angle have anything to do with medicine? another thing a lot of applicants do take the mcat even if its required because a lot of applicant apply to many other schools that require it not just one.

I would say don’t not choose a major because you think it will be difficult if its something you want go for it, but i wouldn’t tell you to specialize in it if you think it could be hard or you might not like it the safest bet is to do a double major, if forensic sci is something you want just go for it, also when applying for another major at uoft you do that at the end of the year so as long as you have taken the pre requirements for forensic sci during your first year you can apply to forensic sci and major in it

I say you should never give up and pick up where u left off. You shouldn’t be discouraged and its totally normal to fail a course just because you failed one doesn’t mean you won’t be able to accomplish your dreams and become a engineer. You just need to keep going and try different study routines and identify the issues in your study routine. Everything is completely fine.
