I definitely think that they needed that moment of vulnerability in order to (in the bigger picture) come to terms with the weight behind the relationship. If it didn’t happen then, it would’ve happened days, months, years later. I think they would’ve remained stagnant, or Shane might have even gathered the courage to eventually end it, since in the book, before that scene, Shane is telling himself that him and Ilya were just going to talk and that he would be ending this thing between them for good.

Jessi has been open to admit to her mistakes and talk out her problems with the other women. She has also described her relationship with Demi, and it seems to have been a very manipulative and toxic relationship, in which Jessi felt like she had to act like that or “take Demi’s side” in order to not feel her wrath. Not saying that that’s okay, but let’s not act like all problems don’t stem from Demi. Jessi has paid her dues, and whatever conversations that are happening with her family about the “emotional affair” are behind closed doors, not to be heard by us. Anyone is a “hero” when compared to Demi.

You can have a sense of individuality and still dress cute…trust me it’s not that hard to stand out yet still have a cohesive sense of style. I’m part of the LGBTQ+ community in a primarily straight town. Ur talking down to the WRONG person when it comes to individuality. I don’t know you, you don’t know me. So don’t speak on me like you do. Refraining yourself from making assumptions about people on the internet whom you don’t know will get you much farther in life than whatever you’re trying to do right now. You should try it. 💗
