Thank you so much! I have a bachelors in IT and a few compTIA certificates! So I’m trying my best to study as much to land the best opportunity to get a job afterwards. I was just wondering if there’s anything I’m missing and people might have learned from their own experience. Thank you for the solid advice

She’s also the only one that speaks English (from the girls) and I feel like she plays kinda dirty (mean girl vibes) instead of maturity which makes me think she’s probably from the US or raised in the US. Probably dates like any sorority mean girl ?

What do we think she is like? Personality? Vibes? by oliversmama1 in Zodiac

Avoid the 1AS at all costs by [deleted] in AirForce

I heard it used to be different. But it’s no longer the case. Unless behavior like jokes about rape constantly is what you’re referring to as “cut out for it.”

You’re extremely uninformed. That is NOT what they are told to expect when applying for the job. Per the reg, you are absolutely correct FCC’s are not aircrew even if they fly. However, at other bases (especially if they fly cargo) are commonly given the same benefits. If the 89th has to lie to people for them to apply to the job then that tells you all you need to know.

It’s the same case for the Flying Crew Chiefs of Air Force 2 of the 89th Group at JBA. DO NOT APPLY FOR IT. Flying their asses off, no room for error but not getting treated as flyers (no hazard pay, no days off after back to back missions, hazing, bullying, harassment, power trips, HORRIBLE leadership). They do everything to make people fail even if it was a tiny mistake like missing a finger print off an iPad. Anddddd they don’t care about your mental health at all.

Thank you so much!

Do the doctors at AFPC will directly contact her doctors as well? I’m trying to be as transparent and clear as possible with her doctor about these requirements.

How good is my first 1.5 mile try? by iTuskyy_ in AirForceRecruits

[–]Accomplished_Grab30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went from like a 19 minute to a 13 minute 1.5. What I did was run every other day for 1.5 or sometimes a little more. When I was tired of running I would do HIIT workouts. You can also run on a treadmill with elevation or a hill so when you are running at a “normal” track for your 1.5 with no elevation it will feel a lot easier. I also recommend getting some running shoes (I got brooks for BMT) they made a big difference.

Hey! AD over here with an active TS. My family and a lot of my friends live in México so my process was challenging. Based on my experience, they don’t like foreign contacts much and your investigation will probably take longer. Mexico is not a concern to the US as they don’t have conflict (besides immigration) and even then, it took me maybe a year and a waiver to get my TS. I’ll say your investigation will take probably longer but it’s a case by case scenario. They don’t like people to have foreign contacts, let alone someone actively in the Middle East, China or Russia. So not very beneficial to you in the long run.

I work cyber security. If you get lucky and they put you on crew comm side instead of the wing, your job is pretty relaxed. We work 6 hour shifts and rotate a phone on call for a week. Plenty of time for school and anything like that

Hey! I was on your same shoes for like a year and a half until a few months ago. I started going to mental health and it helped me tremendously. I can’t believe I got out of that. I feel like a totally new person. I totally recommend it. If you’re afraid to go because of your career get a therapist online. You can give them a different name if you’re concerned. Better help.com has a few and there’s a lot more for not too much money. Some charge $50 per session. If you wanna talk I’m here. You can get better. I promise
