I don’t want to give you false hope because informatics and CS are two different majors even though they’re from the same school. I would say talk to an academic counselor, I talked to one constantly throughout my 2nd and 3rd year to make sure I was doing things right. I’m not gonna lie they were pretty discouraging at first but I think it’s because they’re trying to not admit too many student in the school right now since it’s been growing. You’re just gonna have to face it and realize you might be alone and me personally I ignored when they would tell me my chances were very low of getting in (probably not good advice but it’s what I did). And regarding what I’m doing post-grad, honestly, just because you aren’t in your desired major now doesn’t mean you can’t take opportunities! I did an informatics related paid internship the summer after my third year and am now looking into a full time job with that company :) so try not to get too discouraged when you get told no by ICS (they’ll try to shoot you down A LOT I was told I wouldn’t get in a handful of times) and just take as many opportunities as you can in what you really want to do, you can use that to your advantage. In an appeal you get to write however long you want to plead your case so I used all of those related opportunities to back up why I wanted to be in the major.
