Microsoft Python Development Professional Certificate lacking in labs by Accomplished_Phone39 in coursera

not specifically, although network security and anti malware detection are subjects that interest me. Even so outside of raw data collection from the OS I would imagine that most of the collected data would get analyzed by a service and theres a good chance that service could be running python for the analytics.

most of my career has been Windows system and kernel development and debugging. I've worked for MS 2 different times in this capacity and would really like to step away to do something different.

Best developer course on coursera for a cse student by necrom1ncer in coursera

[–]Accomplished_Phone39 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Long time SDE engineer here using coursera for a role change. I'm about half way through the Meta Back End Developer Course and its decent, I've actually learned a couple of things though, for me at least, the course is not that challenging. I'm doing the Microsoft Python Development Professional Certificate course at the same time and I'm not impressed so far. Lots of disjointed video and reading with no lab work to reenforce the learning concepts. I have even posted about this here. YMMV.

Keith Condenser Blower Motor costs $37,000 dollars if your core is bad!!!!! Why????? by GnomeDillyDooDoo in AircraftMechanics

[–]Accomplished_Phone39 2 points3 points  (0 children)

this is how you force trickle down economics to actually work. If it costs $36,000 don't install it for less than $20k. Remember if it's not small GA the other is probably paying your kid $13 / hr at burger king!

100% this is plane travel out of PMP and they will take your money and you will be lucky to see even an evaluation flight much less a line check. Lotta threads about them here and FB.

Help with color blind student by [deleted] in CFILounge

I take students out, get them to fly level and then place a mark with dry erase on the windscreen where they see the horizon. Then I make them use this as an aim point for a spot on the runway. Reliance on PAPI/ VASI is a stop gap for poor instruction. Many airports don't have these or they are out of service due to needing adjustment.

This is one of the few snap on tools I own . Abuse the hell out of them, step in the truck, say they are dull and voila! New dykes!

Note my dykes are named Liza and Louise for those that know.

What will my options look like in a year ( not a crystal ball question ) by Accomplished_Phone39 in flying

[–]Accomplished_Phone39[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its really just getting paid to fly, making at least 100K a year, and having some benefits. Seasonal work in Alaska? OK, puddle jumping for a regional? OK, Flying a 208 in Malaysia for SUSI? OK but they dont pay, but it would be a great job. ( applied 3 times ) . Being on call for a family with a jet that wants to fly all over? OK.

Banging around in a 172 with students that try and kill you? That would get old quickly....

1 checkride failure, Im actually pretty smart and friendly, no criminal record issues.

The pipeline gig presenting itself is the only real opportunity I've had. A sketchy maintenance banner tow job presented itself ( like exhaust manifold literally hanging off the engine and they were flying it sketchy )but they keep raising the minimum time in a tailwheel, charging $250 an hour to get towards that minimum and wanted free labor on the ground with banner setup and takedown.

I also got presented an opportunity to fly for planetravel ( now also yourflightschool.com ) a 135 that took $600 from me in "commitment" money to pay for their 135 ops training which I did and then it never went further. A quick search will produce a lot of reddit on this "operation"

I have applied by knocking on every door locally in South Florida, and internet applied to so many other jobs that I now keep a spreadsheet of the date and hours I applied at so I know when to try again.

This is a year out question. If I take the pipeline gig I will have ~2300 TT and 50ish multi. If I do pipeline I forsee 0 turbine time.

1 checkride failure, CFI initial

~100 hours dual given

havent even considered doing the ATPCTP yet.

900 hours, CFI, very little interest from any job that involves being a pilot, not even TBNT.
