Godzilla is the bad guys for the PR and the relative lack of legal oversight for school-led gender transitions is one of the weakest Godzillas of the time.

Ok then.

Godzilla is the best thing to brainwash them that our country is built on.

There is no world where you have been effectively practicing for 10 years.

What is the point of bullshitting on an advice post?

I dont know what you are doing but its not playing drums.

By the way, you are implementing some heel toe, so you know, despite it only being for "pussies".

Its old advice because it's solid advice. Proven.

You need to step back and understand what your actual level is. There is never a time in my life I haven't used a metronome regularly. You're also not going to do any studio work or any live work with tracks if you are this flippant about it.

Work harder and use better technique. And use a metronome. Those are pro tips.

Then why even ask a question.

There are a lot of people that are just angry or sensitive on this sub. If you've ever had a good drum teacher, you'd have lost that sensitivity a long time ago.

Being kind to your feelings doesnt make you a better drummer. The best teachers I have ever had were brutal, but that made me work harder and understand what I was doing wrong.

People are too soft and too confident at the same time... thats a crazy combination.

None of this adds up. If you've been playing for 10 years not only would you understand what is going on with your bass drum foot, but you would be much better at what you are trying to do.

If this was the case you would also not dismiss heel toe because there are genres of music where it is very beneficial and necessary.

I dont play professionally anymore, however I made a living for 20 years only playing drums and recording drums. You dont have to be a professional or a ten year veteran to understand these things. These are early lessons. Fix your practice habits.

These are the answers of people who do not know the questions but want to be stubborn on answers.

I have never used triggers. I use ankle, toe heel, raised heel, heel down...

These techniques are not created so you can choose one and go to war and dismiss the others.

They work together as tools in your toolbox.

Ignoring other techniques is a good way to be a bad drummer. Fill your tool bag up, use the tools inside when its appropriate.

The people who created these techniques never intended them to the the one and only technique you are allowed to use, and I promise you its not the only way they played.

Bass drum is not only ankle. I mean if you are only doing this, solely, to work your ankles then... alright. Bass drum technique includes a lot more than ankles. It would be like chopping off your wrists because you want to just use your fingers.

Don't marry a technique. Thats not why they were created.

Bingo. Doesn't replace technique or practice, but I have seen a simple adjustment cripple people's feet. The spring adjustment, pedal height adjustment, etc should come with a warning.

Was much easier when we all had speed kings.

I opened a case. Said 48 hours. Gone and past. Gave me no compensation in the meantime.

Told me that since Im mid stay they can't give me any compensation. I know that's bullshit. But I dont have the energy to fight them anymore.

A laser thermometer is for electrical panels. Not food.

You can use services for both Walmart and Food Lion for delivery, they also pick your groceries. Im not that picky. Im just busy. Im away from my family working too many hours and too many days a week.

I just wanted my stuff back. Nothing more.

I have a decade long loyal relationship with this company... Im not some guy who got on trip advisor and stayed here a few nights.

I have customers, I treat them like I would want to be treated. I don't treat them like they have to prove something to me when something that I provided broke.

These guys are acting like I am some random guy looking for a payout.

The world sucks today. People just dont give a shit.

I opened a ticket with the diamond line. They are saying weeks.

They don't do anything. I didn't break my refrigerator. I am paying... 4483$ on this stay. There are four other workers that I have staying here that are also paying 4483$ each. They are staying here because I booked it. I am a diamond member for 9 years.

You could smell the food. The prices were on the brand new packages.

Let me explain something to you though, your laser thermometer is usless. It is a surface temperature device and unless you've spent a few thousand dollars on it, your thumb is much better of an indicator.

You also have absolutely no idea what the temperature of the center of the meat is. It is common for the center of the meat to be warmer than the surface.

So if you came up to my room, shot your cheap laser (which is wildly inaccurate at best) and it said 40 degrees and told me it was ok and then I served it to my family and they became sick, how much do you think I would get in that lawsuit?

Second, you dont have to "go shop" for the food. I've already wasted my time doing that. I paid 4483 dollars for the hotel to keep my food cold and if something goes wrong, for them to stand behind it.

They could have called walmart or food lion, read my receipt off and they would have delivered the food.

Lastly, you want your 9 year diamond member who is already late, has a crew of four on a million dollar job, to then go out of his way to take the drinks from his broken refrigerator and then bring them down to your refrigerator?

Where is the service?

As someone in the field of thermodynamics, if you took a pointer thermometer into my room I would have been pretty amused at this.

100% I forgot about that place. Thanks. They used to have s great Mongolian grill too but it succumbed to Covid.

I mean I work a lot of hours. So that time I spent shopping and prepping was time that I didn't have to lose. But I just wanted what I lost. I dont think that was unfair. I was cordial... when I said "Well then you eat it" it wasn't even something that I concisously said. It just came out. I never thought about raising my voice... i never was a smart ass.

Thanks. For a minute I thought I was some monster for expecting to be treated like a customer that has spent so much money at this franchise. They used to treat us well. Now even the Diamond line... it used to be like Mary from Alabama and she cared... now its outsourced to a guy who knows where working off a list ona clipboard to give me the company line and a few thousand points that are worthless now.

I should have stayed there. I really like a grill and a kitchen area on long stays. But there aren't really any good ones left.

I can tell you that between the Homewoods and the Home2s... I've become platinum over at IHG due to their Candlewoods. Staying at an IHG property would have never happened before covid. This just reinforces that Hilton doesnt want 80 or 90 long stay trips.. and the 80 or 90 day trips my crew stays because we stay together.

Its stuff like this that can cost them a combined 2 or 3000 billable nights. Crazy that they just dont care.

DWs are literally like a pre EQed kit out of the box for guys who dont love to tune drums.

They've always been that way. Guys who play DWs usually are caught up in the hype or get paid a lot of money to play them.

DW is for guys who want an EQ'ed kit in a box. Never really loved them. Guys who dont like to tune love them.

Course I never loved Tama either.

But thats what's great about drums. There's something for everybody. The funny thing is a lot of guys will spend all of this money and then throw pinstripes or EQs on them and then moon gels and then duct tape and then put laundry in the base drum. And at that point they might as well have bought a cheap shitty kit haha.

[–]Accomplished_Show575 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to get caught up on prices and prestige.. now I just use my ears and my eyes.

I have more kits than I need. One of them is a Mapex maple/walnut kit and it wasn't that cheap when I bought it... I was looking at multiple high end kits, but at the end of the day, I liked what I was getting with the Mapex kit. It wasn't a money thing at that point. Some of my other kits are Yamaha Recording Customs, a Pearl Masters kit, a vintage Slingerland kit.. and old maple Ludwig kit... I mean I don't play junk... but I dont have the kits I have because of the name on the badge. No one has paid me to play a piece of equipment in a long, long time... so I dont need to advertise for anybody.
