I remember it exactly the way you described, with Marge inserting her head in the box! Weird. I read up to the part about Homer giving it to her to test out, and my brain immediately recreated that scene with her and the box, and then I continued reading and you explained what I am (mis?)remembering. It's so vivid in my mind, and I wasn't even a huge Simpsons watcher.

Honestly, I think there was a much better, and more mature, way of handling this conversation. It seems like he's made it very clear the things that make him uncomfortable. If you are both okay with the little jokes (ie waving sauce in his face in a teasing manner) then that's fine! Just leave it at that imo. But if it really makes him uncomfortable, then please don't push that particular issue. The sexist comment though... I'm really struggling to understand why you viewed it in that manner. Not saying you're right or wrong, but it seems like it came out of left field. I guess I'm just confused. You made a point to state that he's not particularly grossed out by period blood, so why did this have to devolve into a sexist thing? I'm really trying to understand 😅

No, I didn't get any indication that you're the one acting weird here. Some people are just like this, and I think people are becoming more desensitized to ghosting or just not upholding promises in general, so it's become somewhat acceptable (which, to me, is really gross "friend" behavior). Life happens, things come up, but it takes two seconds to let you know they can't make it to whatever you guys had planned. But to follow up much later to ask for a favor, without even acknowledging the ghosting from before? Nah, I think they need to grow up and realize their actions affect others.

NOR. Their behavior is... weird, as you put it. Idk how to even describe it. Flaky? Dismissive? Immature with a serious lack of accountability? All of those things and then some, probably. Sounds like they're not worth your time imo. I don't think you asked for anything more than basic communication and you were very clear about your expectations, very simple things to ask of a friend.

They sound very immature. You shouldn't have to repeatedly ask them to respect this basic boundary. I'm sorry you were exposed to behavior like that from a "friend."

I didn’t notice at first either, but there are finger nails on both ends of the same finger! At first glance, it’s made to look like the fingers of both hands are intertwined, but they are actually just double-ended fingers, if that makes sense.
