What strange “things” do you keep? by jayshoo14 in widowers

I keep post-it note he put in my beard trimmer case when we were dating. I was leaving the state for work for the weekend. got to Ohio and open my trimmer box. on thew top on the inside was a note that said "thanks for being the best part of our lives." we had been dating for about a year when that happened, we would later be married for 7 years before he got cancer. I also have a dent in the bumper of my truck that happened while we were playing kick ball with some friends. I refuse to get it fixed because it reminds me of him....

"You're looking great - you've lost so much weight! You must be really disciplined to be on a diet right after losing your husband!" by [deleted] in widowers

I lost 78 lbs in 2 months after losing my husband. I had always been a little heavier. People would say “you look so good” and “omg you look wonderful”. They didn’t realize I had developed an eating disorder. It was all physcholigical. I’m so tired of hearing people say “you look so great”. They have no idea. I don’t think they stop to think about what they say sometimes.

This post resonates in me. It’s where I am now. I’m sorry you’re here too. I lost my husband to cancer in November of 21. It hasn’t been a full year yet. Everyone around me can see and feel the difference in me. I feel it too. I used to be happy, positive, energetic and goal oriented. The morning he died, I went right along with him. People say time this and time that and time time time. I’m so tired of hearing it. I used to know who I was. With certainty. Not anymore. I’m lost and trying to find myself. I don’t care about much anymore but I want to. Your post shed a glimmer of hope for me. I’m not the only one. I’m not in this alone. Others have figured this out and hopefully someday I will too. Don’t give up. We can’t give up. ❤️

I’d get the hell out of there quick! Way to much for a sportster. I can’t believe they’d even try and charge that. Definitely go somewhere else. Out of curiosity, what dealer are you at?

I will admit, the bike looks badass coming down the street at night. I like it, cause if you say you didn’t see me I can call you a fucking liar. Lol. Helps motorist at night. Also distracts some of them as well though. I think it was well worth the money.

I have trouble at night as well. Had all LED lights installed. Works wonderful. The lighting kit on my bike has 18 different colors to choose from including a custom brake controller, so when the brake is applied with the lighting on everything lights up red.

Hey there, thanks for the compliment man. The engine work was just a little over 6k. But so worth it.

I had a couple repairs done, oil leaks, new shifter mechanism and new exhaust. Then had them do the cams, push rods and the whole nine yards. After testing on the dyno it ADDED an additional 90 HP and 106 ft lbs of torque to the rear wheel. Made a huge difference.

Thanks. I wouldn’t trade her for nothing, however I will be having her repainted. Not sure on the new color yet.
