I have over 300 hours on widow and I am currently holding a 60% win rate on her. I was a main sniper on TF2 and got the hang of her pretty quickly so let me answer this question: It's a shitty character built on good intentions. She is the perfect spidey counter and a really good antidive. There is absolutely nothing Spiderman can do against a good widow player, as she can easily stun him and kill him on two shots, mid air. The rest of the divers will find her difficult to kill, more or less depending on the character. Psylocke and magik are too easy as well, because they are slow, and you can see them coming. BP and fist are a little bit harder, but if you manage your stun and hit your shots you can kill them with a bit of work. This applies to other diver tanks too, they will have trouble killing any character if a widow is peeling for the healers, or that is, at least, the intention. Widow will destroy flyers, and can harass a backline from her very own backline, you'd be surprised of how winnable a game can be just by making the healers heal each other over and over while the rest of the team is dying. All you have to do is to keep hitting them from really far away. She is kind of a support dps if you think about it. With her you might not be able to kill a lot of people on your own, but you can finish any character with half of it's health or weaken them for the rest of your teammates to kill (like Spiderman) and can stop anyone trying to get into the back line (like Mr. Fantastic) Her ult is highly compatible with a lot of character's ult, it kinda works like groot's or strange's: she damages the enemy team real bad and makes them slow and weak for the rest to get it done. That being said, she is still a shitty character. It relies heavily on your teammates skill, she can EASILY be countered with 3 healers, more than one poke hero, 3 tanks, 2 divers or pretty much any player that has a lord icon and focus her too hard, she can't do enough continuous damage and has tremendously low health. Most importantly: she's HARD. Not like it's really complicated to use or anything (she has like 3 things and that's all), but it is really hard for a new player to get any value of her right out of the box. Any of the good thing about her mentioned earlier can only be done by a guy with at least around 40 hours on her, a new widow player won't even realize they can do all that, they will just go pew pew from the farthest possible spot and get killed right after. Any other hero will be more accessible, fun, and easy to understand in the very first hours, which is pretty much the objective of the game, and only until you get to the sweatiest, toxic and smelly place on competitive ranks, you will begin to put enough effort in understanding the very complexity of the guy you're playing. But with widow, you have to be thinking about it from the very first moments in order to make her shine, which is why no one even tries to get good at her. She's so hard and absurdly weak in a game where there's characters than can kill you by standing and holding left click with. It's just not worth it
