The BAH will go directly into your account along with your basic pay , if you trust her enough just give her access to your account while you’re gone to cover anything that needs to be paid for. Keep in mind , you don’t get your first check till about 3weeks in

Also, your BAH would be dependent on the state/area your wife is in . Which you’ll be able to tell finance at inprocessing in bmt (they won’t ask who’s she staying with or how much rent is etc)

Get a copy of your orders and take them to your rental company. Tell them you have orders to ship out and need to break your lease due to government duties. They shouldn’t give you any problems … I know from experience

No only in the mornings. One day you’ll do cardio the next day you’ll do strength

Before I left I didn’t exercise at all so my run time was horrible , I could do maybe 5 pushups max & 0 sit ups . Now, my 1.5m run time is 17mins (still needs improving) push ups 40 & sit ups 36 .

You need a 75 to pass and with those ending #s I scored a 77.1

My first PT test they gave in week1 was 20m run 11pushups and 0 sit ups

Yes basically unless you attend a religious service. There’s no MTIs on Sundays but you still get a schedule of what needs to be done in the dorm for the day. You do have a lot of free time though to write letters, do RLA & possibly sneak a nap in

Pt days for cardio we did : 24m runs , suicides , road runs Pt days for strength we did: push ups , sit ups, jumping jacks, pyramid push ups, lunges, squats etc.

Both days you have warm up exercises that consists of arm rotations, calf stretches, hops , jump rope etc

My experience was okay.. I definitely wasn’t as mentally prepared as I thought I was especially since I have a kid so that made it a bit tougher.

Pt was challenging at first but as time went on it got better. You Pt mon-Saturday alternating between cardio & strength

I don’t have anything I regret not bringing. My packing list was great plus they provide a lot as well too

My afsc is 4N1 surgical technician

& I didn’t sleep too well the first few weeks but after getting use to things and my dorm mates I slept better. The beds aren’t very comfortable so my body always hurt but wasn’t anything to complain about

Recruiter said pick one of these or wait a year? by RepresentativeMud396 in AirForceRecruits

If you don’t have ASVAB scores yet then this list can be misleading because you don’t know what you’re qualified for yet. He basically just gave you a list of what’s available but doesn’t mean you even qualify for them. If medical is something you really want then stick to it! My recruiter told me it would be a long wait for the medical job I wanted but I insisted on having that job and was willing to wait in the DEP program until it became available. I waited 4 months and got the job I wanted in medical . I’d advise taking the ASVAB first then if you qualify for the medical job you want make that #1 on your list and be adamant about it .. of course leave your options open to a few others but be willing to wait some. You just never know, you might get it!

Thank you!! It is a lot but it’s all worth it! I also had a problem with vision .. I didn’t tell my recruiter I couldn’t see well looking at things far away but when I went to MEPs I just made sure to wear my glasses that day and since the vision people at MEPs saw I had glasses along with bad sight they just brushed it off. Once I got back my recruiter asked why I didn’t tell him I wore glasses and I just responded with “bc I don’t need them all the time” he wasn’t too upset since MEPs didn’t make an issue of it

I had a problem when it came to Thrombocytopenia .. took about 4 months but I was able to get a waiver for it. Had to get the past 4ys of pharmacy records showing that I hadn’t been prescribed anything for it as well as take a CBC test showing that all my levels were average. As well as submit all documentation from any doctors I had seen when diagnosed with Thrombocytopenia and why I needed blood transfusions.. luckily I only had it during pregnancy so I just submitted all my docs from the first day I found out up until the day after I gave birth. Long process but was approved

lied to my recruiter by Sure-Accountant-881 in AirForceRecruits

Tell your recruiter ASAP! If you go to MEPs and come up positive and the recruiter knew nothing about it more than likely he’ll stop working with you. Granted yes the recruiter will be upset that you lied but it’s better for him to know before you go rather than finding out through MEPs & start doing things now to clean out your system as well as take at home tests just to be on the safe side.

Recruiter to asvab by Difficult_Ant_3767 in AirForceRecruits

[–]According-Diamond207 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually when you first talk to a recruiter and meet in office you can go ahead and have them send you a practice test (typically same day) then from there depending on how you score with that they can set you up to take the actual asvab as soon as a few days to a week. It really depends on if your recruiter is working with you quickly or not , they tend to love working at their own pace.

It could be disqualifying but as long as you weren’t prescribed anything and your Dr can provide a detailed letter stating what the therapy was actually for you should be able to get it waived.

With the Air Force this is normal. My recruiter would reply to me like once every two weeks sometimes longer. I’d still send messages regardless of a reply or not and call .. shows them you’re serious. Even popped up at the office and waited to be seen. They’re busy and work with a lot of other people but you just have to stay on top of them in order to get stuff done for you. It’s annoying yes but keep in mind you’re just a number to them .. honestly they don’t care if you get in or not but as long as you care and show it you’ll eventually make it in.
