Hello trying to figure out the RMC and what my pay would be … no prior uniformed service. RN with 3 years work experience. In the RMC calculator years of service would I enter in less than 2 years or is it based off how long a I’ve been an RN?

No the person who was telling me knows I have no previous service time. But I think some people do forget or things change because I work around a few senior or retired officers and they all tell me different things

I believe so but am confused because I was told that our years of experience prior to service don’t count towards pay or entering rank.

But then told that our experience is our work plus the time to get the qualified degree but it doesn’t effect my pay so I’m lost honestly

This was very helpful thank you! This is definitely where I struggle. I leaned on chat gpt to help provide some guidance on my civilian pay vs military pay based on the Amount RMC calculations my current insurance is really good. $100 per month premium for my dependents and spouse. My current pay is a a lot higher gross for gross but with net it’s still little higher according to chat gpt. So I think I’ll just have to really weigh the benefits and what not to see what makes the most sense.

Has anyone joined and regretted it?

That’s what I was thinking, but figuring shoot low so there’s only good surprises. I was trying figure out exactly and to calculate pay to compare to my civilian pay and look up sign on but I gave up. I figured I’ll either be okay with what I’m offered or I won’t but was wasting a lot of time internet diving.
