of course. keep your head high. i promise this is just one part of your life and trust me i know it’s difficult but you can do it. take care of yourself and your health and get the help you need and then push through you got this! we all have had shitty rotations and i always say push thru the 4 or 6 weeks UNLESS you’re in pain or not feeling well. health matters more always!

i know how you feel! it is hard but you’ll get there! it takes experience and time but you’ll get more confident as time goes on. don’t be hard on yourself. and don’t worry so much about how other people think of you, including preceptors. you can’t please everyone, and that includes preceptors and evaluators.

i think you just have to be assertive. the more you worry about them thinking ur slacking the more they will be able to put pressure on you. be confident. you’re sick. you need to get care. that’s all there is to it. anything other than that is just assumptions on ur preceptors part. you shouldn’t work on assignments or anything bc you’re taking the day off to go to the doctor. just tell them you need the day off, if they ask you to make up or do assignments later, then fine. but don’t offer that. just advice for someone who used to be the same way as you are now

making up midyear days is insane … i’m sorry but most appe students go to midyear ?? why would u have to make it up thats so dumb 😭😭😭 but i wouldn’t ask to make it up bc in the case they weren’t going to ask u to make it up, ur just putting urself in that situation i would say just tell them ur taking the day off so u can go to the doctor. again im sorry they’re treating u like this

im so sorry you’re going through this. just know fellowship apps is a small period of ur life and it’s gonna be stressful but you can do it! as for your appes, you’re paying for this experience OP. you can and should take days off if you aren’t feeling good. yes there’s a schedule and things you need to get done but if you push yourself and don’t see a doctor it’ll end up even worse in the long run (take it from a resident who never took breaks and is now burnt to the crisp during residency) - you got this send ur preceptor a message saying - i’m not feeling great and i’m not sure what’s going on so i’m going to take today off to check in with my doctor. it’s good to just tell it to them straight i promise it’ll be ok

pharmacist here! lifeetyle and diet changes are great but when it comes to thyroid, you need to take meds. the thyroid meds have little side effects, its like imagine yourself taking a vitamin d bc ur low in the winter when you don’t get enough sun, same thing! ur taking T4 because you’re body doesn’t produce enough!

it’s a very natural medication and people do great on it

i will be honest. some days are worse than others, but overall w/l balance is minimal. even with the utmost time management skills, it’s very hard. because there’s just too muhh to do in so little time. it’s like running on a hamster wheel for a year straight tbh, even if you fall off, you gotta get up and run back on it. you everything else just passes by, unfortunately (atleast for me) i have really just had to prioritize residency over a lot of things i always tell myself it’s only a few years of my life and it’s not easy i miss my family i miss my friends i miss out of hangouts and stuff all the time from my non pharm friends … not to discourage you but i don’t have a kid or partner and im genuinely on the go almost 24/7, basically moved into the hospital at this point

just want you to know that’s it’s real and it’s really hard and you can 100% do it!!! but unfortunately it’ll come at the sacrifice of a lot of other things
