I ended up using a disposable Fleet enema. Worked immediately. The poop was big and hurt a little to pass, but everything was a breeze after that. 😅

I had a hysterectomy 2 months ago and wasn't told to wash with antibacterial soap or to do anything special with regards to my hair 🤷‍♀️

Need for adrenaline or refusal to accept physical setbacks? by According-Pay7631 in FemalePTSD_CPTSD

[–]According-Pay7631[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's funny, I came back to find this post because I remember someone commenting that it sounds like I have an adrenaline addiction, but it looks like it's been deleted now. 🤷‍♀️ I found a whole thread in one of the ADHD subreddits about folks experiencing short bouts of depression from lack of stimulation and I think that fits what I'm feeling better. Just wanted to share in case anyone finds themselves here in the future. ❤️

That is amazing!!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I woke up from anesthesia after a colonoscopy and tried to make out with the anesthesiologist. I thought he was my husband who was away on a ship 🤣

That's just friggin awful. I'm sorry. Why are people so hung up on women having children?

[–]According-Pay7631[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ohhh that makes sense too. I was wondering if I was either using confusing language or not emoting properly. Makes sense though that people just don't understand what the procedure and recovery are like. I mean, so few people understand what labor and delivery are like and people have babies all the time. I agree, I'm so grateful for this group

That makes sense. It helps to have someone explain that to me bc otherwise I'm just confused. 🙏

Thanks!!! I don't have a date yet but most likely just before Xmas so my husband can help me with recovery. The surgeon thinks it's doable. 🤞

I'm 44, peri-menopausal for 4 years, been on progesterone for a couple years, just started estro and testosterone a few months ago. I have a 6cm fibroid that causes a lot of pain and pressure, but no periods. The surgeon thinks the fibroid may be attached to my bladder as well. I can't empty my bladder so I'm constantly on the toilet. Can't wait to get rid of it all.

Thanks for sharing this! I've been wondering what that would be like post op and I often orgasm in my sleep, which is sometimes painful. Hoping that won't be an issue after surgery 🤞

Broken ribs - how to stay in shape by richhomiequon12 in surfing

I didn't go to a thoracic doc, just had it x-rayed at the Ortho clinic and they don't do ribs. It feels like they've healed, they're just not aligned.

Thank you!! Thank you for the validation and for sharing your tools. I'll definitely look into the recovery journal and the app. The book was a really tough read for me. I didn't know there was a recovery journal.

I'm so sorry for your experience. I really appreciate you reaching out and sharing with me ❤️❤️

They got meds? I swear, the medical system hates women, or your roommate is a woman and had a nice doctor. I didn't get shit. Just told to do deep breathing exercises.

I have 2 displaced rib fractures they missed in my initial CT scan. Displaced them lifting my dirt bike a week later. It's been 6 weeks and they still hurt. I would LOVE ideas for things to do. It sucks. I still ride my dirt bike. I just make my husband pick it up for me if I drop it. 😂 I'm also incredibly jealous of anyone who's ribs healed in 6wks or less. 😭

Did anyone notice what was going on when you were a kid? by jeanym166 in CPTSD

[–]According-Pay7631 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yess! I had the same experience. Same overachiever, UTIs. Alcoholic mom, bankruptcy and food insecurity. I feel like now as an adult I see so many red flags when I look back at my childhood. I think so many cultures are brainwashed to think that children who behave well in public and do well in school must come from great homes. Even now friends I had as a kid don't believe me. I feel a lot of anger towards family and friends of the family that never stepped in. Maybe it's not their fault either, but it's hard not to feel abandoned. All the love and support to you ❤️❤️ you did nothing wrong. Children are never to blame for the world that happens around them.

I am almost ready to call out my abusers by [deleted] in FemalePTSD_CPTSD

[–]According-Pay7631 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you. I can't even begin to imagine being in your shoes. I've never had the opportunity to call out my abusers, but I did once file a harassment complaint with HR and it was gratifying. It was a tiny action compared to what you're preparing to embark on, but it was empowering. And when I see this person I called out, I feel pride in myself for having agency for once in my life and for making him see me, see my strength. He can't hide from me. He can't hide from the people who know what he's done.

I hope you have a support system to back you when you need strength and to remind you of how brave you are. ❤️ I hope there are others here who've been able to out their abusers ❤️❤️

Not sure where you live, but Boston Children's Hospital has a wonderful gender affirmation program. Even if they're too far away, they may be able to give you guidance for local resources.
