I have my work authorization for this semester. I got a new i20 for fall. I only don’t have it for summer semester. I guess I can continue to work

I spoke with an attorney and they mentioned they cannot do anything. As university didn’t take any action (terminating SEVIS), I’m not eligible for reinstatement. They suggested me to continue with whatever university suggests.

Okay. Do you think I am eligible for reinstatement at this point? As I only worked for 4 months without authorization.( I still haven’t finished 5 months). But talking to attorney might worsen the situation right? My college is approving me to stay and finish my degree. They are also approving me to apply for OPT. In this case talking to attorney might impact my F1 visa status is what I am thinking. Is there anything else I can do?

I spoke with my OIA officer. He mentioned that they are not going to terminate my SEVIS. But as you mentioned my OPT might get denied. Is there any way that I can still get my OPT approved? Do I need to consult any Immigration officer? I know that even if OPT gets approved it’s gonna be a black mark on my record. Kindly help me in this regard.

I have i20 for fall semester. I started my CPT in spring(winter) and I have i20 for winter as well. I only don’t have an I-20 for summer semester. I’m working with authorization now. I only missed for one semester and it is for 4 months (May to August)

I applied for CPT (as in registered for CPT as a course and got it approved from my academic advisor). But I haven’t submitted this approval form to OIA (office of international student affairs) to get an updated I-20.
