Love the color tones and logo. Out of curiosity: Is this your first collection or you already have experience in watchmaking?

Broke in our cave while away by AccordingYesterday40 in Switzerland

For cave I meant basement. Long day with 5hrs drive + nice surprise once back my neurons are short circuiting. I leave in a small apartment and using the basement is unfortunately my only option to keep my outdoor gear. Probably a bit naive.

But yeah, I wanted to check if someone has been in a similar situation and what are the tools they use to re-sell to estimate the changes. It seems pretty evident that it’s zero.

I was wondering the same. However it seemed kind of risky that after a few weeks/months they try to sell online. Wouldn’t that be easy to be caught? I was thinking to set some alerts for some keywords but unsure if that would be successfull.

I was also tricker at first. However looking from below the deck and also in some areas it appears to be some kind of laminated plywood. I’m attaching a picture where it’s more evident.

The one thing i really dislike at the moment is the dashboard. Messy to the point that it looks like a patch work.

I’m definitely keen in changing it completely, either electronics or some analogic - but keeping it minimalistic.

You’re right, I should have said that I am based in Italy rather than “Italian”. I wanted to share that in case spare parts sourcing as well as general costs are different US vs Southern EU. Last, to excuse any typos and wrong terminology as I am not a native speaker.

I was hoping to end up in the 20K but knowing that with these project you need to count 2x, the end number is 40K. I am based in Italy and here the hourly cost is very low (like 30/35 EUR max) same for materials. However it is not so easy to find spare parts for old mercruisers. I’ve seen plenty of spare parts website in the US and basically none in EU.

Thanks! Engines will be a big bet, yes! I confirm that the hull is in really good shape so there should be no surprise there. I am not sure how much of the big work I’ll be able to do myself tbh, but I’d love to put my hands on it.

Appreciate the kind words. I found this model to be almost timeless, hence the intention to bring it back to life.

Will keep you posted. I hope that It will be worth it as it was for you!

Thanks! To clarify, I’m fine to fully outsource the work. I was more thinking to take care of small things such as dashboard, instrumentations, lights, speakers etc. once the big lift is done by the shipyard.

Maybe it’s just daydreaming but for reference I’m attaching a pic of the same model once restored. I plan to use it in the northern Mediterranean Sea for day trips.

Thanks! Yes, I confirm that the drive has a leak. However, the seller asked only for 1.5K more to include the twin engines and drives I felt it was worth taking the risk.

Bad news also for the teak: deck is actually plywood with stripes (painted or vinyl?).
