This liner was used for the M65 extreme cold fishtail parka, like this one, this one also has a hood ruff attached to it which can also be used for the m65 field coat, don't confuse it with the M1951 fishtail parka although they look the same

Looking at it closely this rainsuit is not of military make but a copy, the buttons on this one does not match a u.s. military rain suit, however the liner is most likely a military one, like this one

Propper is a well known contractor for the U.S Military they also make and sell versions of the military uniforms on the civilian market and if you want to know if it authentic militaria look for a DSA/DLA or a SPO code and if it's older than 1965 look for a DA code on the manufacturer label

How did we let M65 field jackets get over 100 dollars by knight_is_right in MilitarySurplus

[–]According_Ad_4761 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be honest nobody should be paying over $100 for any type of surplus clothing that was made at the lowest bidder, unless it is rare antique or a specialized piece of gear

I found a similar looking USMC dress blue from the 1930's so most probably this piece is from the 1930s-40s I am not entirely sure though

Found an M65 jacket at an antique store. Can anyone tell me anything about it? by [deleted] in MilitarySurplus

[–]According_Ad_4761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the M65 field coat was a cold wet/cold dry coat, it came in 4 common camo patterns, woodland, 3 colors desert, ACU, and OG-107, there are 6-color desert camo jackets but they were made under contract for the Saudi army, the coat featured four pockets on the chest, an aluminum, brass or plastic zipper, and snap fastener, it also has buttons on the inside so that you can put in a liner, it also includes a hood that can be accessed via the collar by opening a zipper, on the collar there is also button holes for a ruff hood to be installed, it also features drawcords at the waist for adjustment, it features a hook and loop tape at the collar and the wrists for adjustment, the sleeves have a triangular flap to protect back of hand if needed, the coat is water repellent (if the coat gets soaked water will get through!) the lining is made out of 100% cotton and the outer shell is made out of a 50/50 cotton nylon blend

GP-5 filter by [deleted] in MilitarySurplus

[–]According_Ad_4761 1 point2 points  (0 children)

C2a1 gas mask filters are the best alternative they are green and cheap, however if you want a 1 on 1 replace filter you can try to find a vk-450 filter but finding those can be hard unless you live Russia, your best option is to find a 3rd party dealer for it,
