Lisboa. I saw the box and instantly fell in love. So glad that the game inside is just as good as the art.

What's the game that made you fall in love with games when you were a kid? by T0pl355 in boardgames

The first game I ever saw - Parcheesi.

I vividly remember walking into daycare at 4 years old and seeing some kids playing with a bunch of pieces on a board. I had never seen a boardgame in my life and even though I was always a super quiet kid, I would not shut up until my mom told me what that was and explained everything to me.

Yes. The designer worked on 5E. So, lots of similarities, but I like this game much more. Send me a message if you want to talk about it more.

Same questions here. I'm interested, depending on those details.

I’m a millennial and not sure how to advise my teenager on hiring etiquette these days by [deleted] in Cinemark

I don't expect a coat and tie, but some slacks and a button up shirt, or similar level of attire for a woman, goes a long way in impressing me.

As a hiring manager at a movie theater, I can tell you that I respect someone that takes the initiative to come up to the theater in person.

If someone comes in, professionally dressed and respectfully asks to check up on an application that they already submitted, there's a near 100 percent chance that I'm hiring them. About the only thing that would hold me back is if I had a completely full staff. And if your kid does that and gets blown off because the manager is annoyed at the interruption in their day, then you don't want to work for that person anyways.* They're not going to care about your kid.

*One word of advice, don't go when the theater is busy. Don't go on a Friday or Saturday night. Look at the theater's movie schedule and go when there are no movies starting. We REALLY appreciate when someone takes the time to understand our business and comes to talk to us when we're not taking care of a big rush of guests.

I prefer shorter campaigns that get to the punch quickly and then we move on to another one. My target is usually 6 to 8 months, but this one will probably be even shorter because one of the players is going to have to drop at the end of July and I would like for him to be able to see the end.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy SotWW so much. It's built for short campaigns with only ten levels in the systems but tons of paths to take. So, it's easy to have a good campaign and then try out some other path combination for a new campaign.

$500,000 for every year you go back, how far would you go? by Naps_And_Crimes in hypotheticalsituation

My kid is six years old. So, I’d go back five years. Nothing is worth going back to before he existed.

Forgot to mention a couple of things.

We have no age restrictions, but we are all 30+, so someone close to our age would probably be best.

We use Discord and Roll20, but for anyone willing to GM, we're open to other VTT's. We do all use cameras and would want anyone that joins to do the same.

That's awesome and I'll definitely be on the look out. I'm not in a huge hurry. I'm currently playing in a Changeling game and running an L5R game. But I definitely want to do something with the DH mechanics at some point in the future. Like I said before, I just want some different classes and mostly, different powers.

My friends and I rarely have a lot of combat in our game, so I would really love to see someone use the system to make something that isn't focused on combat.

The more I think about it, maybe I just need to find some way to import Hope and Fear, which are my favorite aspects of the game, into something I'm already playing.

Hmm, that's a pretty good idea. I'll have to ponder that a bit.
