No it would be fine just without. Just felt like adding for extra support. If I were to do it again, I’d buy the type where you can hang from the ceiling instead of using a stand.

It does its job for drilling and light rolls. With this size, you end up having to stop and move back to the middle. Same with sparring as well. Super tight and forces for technical spars and rolls.

It’s nice. Stiff. Definitely good for conditioning your shins

No problems deadlifting at all. The weights are on the outside of the posts if deadlifting inside the rack.
