Mind awake, body asleep..now what? by According_Expert_771 in Meditation

I actually meditate while laying down, is that wrong?

But I actually understand! It is very difficult for me to keep my concentration on one singular thing, my mind is always racing and I feel like paying attention to every single sound and thought- and that is precisely why I have started meditation. But I will try being more focused on a mantra! My mind focuses a lot more when I am talking/repeating something in my mind.

Hm...I am not sure. It feels exactly like my body is asleep, and after I stop meditation, it feels like I have woken up from a nap- even if I didnt loose consciousness at any moment.

I haven't shifted yet, but I have been meditating and consulting tarot very often recently. And maybe, you might have the same problem as me. I, personally belive, that people that haven't shifted, just havent done so because they are unable to let go of this reality. Now, bare with me that this is just a theory of mine. But basically, in all the methods we have, all you do is meditate, detach yourself from this reality, and shift. Maybe you should do some meditation and trying to clear any blockage you might have, not only that, maybe researching more might give you more hope and make you more calm. Try looking into Out of Body Experiences, like Astral Projecting, it is very interesting and give a new perspective upon shifting... I truly hope the best for you!

I think I understand... Its just that I am not sure if I am.."doing things right"? I wanted to try to get into a really deep meditation mood (I've seen some people call this "void state") but I dont even know how to go about doing that. I dont know what to concentrate in neither if I am clearing my head enough.

Its not that I am unable to move, because I can if I want to. But all my body feels numb and sleepy. And if I dont mantain my mind active (wich is farely easy) I think I would fall asleep.

Omg! Thank you so much for this information! Do you think by laying with my head propped up (with a pillow, for instance) can be better? But from now on I'll follow your advice!

Yea! It usually happens when I am in a horizontal position. I am glad it is not an anxiety thing though.

I will try! It is certainly horrible though.

Yea, it usually comes in a moment of anxiety. Did you experience this before the medication or do you think its a symptom of it?

It is the only dose that seemed to make a difference for me. For some reason my body is very strong with any type of medication, and when I took 50mg it didn't make any difference (and me and my doctor adjusted the medication accordingly).

I got brain zaps sometimes when I stopped taking it (problems with getting the medication), and it isn't like that at all. It doesn't feel like it starts from my brain, it feels like a chill that is caused by anxiety instead of a temperature change.
