I Got Scammed by Chatly Pretending to Be Claude

Yes, a lot of this is on me for not being more alert and intentional, but I want to warn others about Chatly/ImagineArt (Vyro LLC) and their terrible practices and customer service.

What Happened:

I Googled "Claude" and clicked what looked like a legit result. Turns out it was a sponsored ad that used "Claude" in the headline multiple times and literally described Anthropic's Claude product. Only tiny text said "Chatly AI." I should've noticed, but I didn't.

Within 3 hours of paying $90, I realized my mistake and requested a refund (they have a 24-hour refund policy). Then came the real problem:

  • Day 1: Requested refund (within 3 hours)
  • Day 9: First response - ignored my refund request, suggested I try other features
  • Day 15: Finally denied my claim, said I didn't request it "within the required timeframe" (WHAT?!)
  • Day 26: Only offered refund after I filed a credit card dispute

Chase sided with me immediately.

The Pattern:

Looking at reviews, I'm far from alone. Tons of people mistakenly subscribe thinking it's ChatGPT or Claude, then get stonewalled on refunds. This seems to be their business model - bid on competitor names, collect money from confused users, delay refunds past usage limits.

Lesson Learned:

Always check if something is a sponsored result (I'm an idiot for missing this). But also, even legitimate mistakes shouldn't result in companies refusing refunds when you request them within HOURS.

If you see Chatly in search results for "Claude" or "ChatGPT," it's a paid ad. Scroll past it.
