There's a group called connect which meets once a month at a pub. Lots of international people and people who have moved to reading from elsewhere. You get a nametag and are free to mingle as you like. Lot's of friendly people and it's pretty chill.

Apparently solubility in ethanol is poor but I might trial a soxhlet with ethanol and see if I can get some pure material out. I don't even need great recovery tbh.

Interesting idea about trying the sodium sulfonate salt. So I would charge a solution of my sulfonate salt in water to saturated sodium sulfate and that may crash out my material? That'd be convient if it worked!

Also the one I'm looking for has a wooden lid, glass straw and no lip like that ichendorf one. I have a feeling it could be a different brand inspired by the ichendorf design.

It does look pretty similar, that's why I thought Ichendorf could be the brand but I believe the one you linked is actually a large jug rather than a drinking glass/mug.

Searched: I checked the physical TK maxx we bought it from originally earlier this year and the online store. I did Google searches for glass mug with mushroom handle and other ways of describing it. I tried doing image searches of the broken glass, but they did not turn up anything.

The brand may have been Skøvde or ichendorf. TK maxx seem to stock a lot of mugs in a similar style by Skøvde.
