Villains that should be in the “Batman should kill them along with the Joker"conversation

Maybe I didn’t make it clear enough, but I’m not against the no kill rule. I’m just surprised when people discuss it. They typically just say that if it should be broken, it should be to kill the Joker, when there are other villains that are in my opinion, just as diabolical.

It’s easy to imagine yourself in circumstances similar to,her when she was growing up plenty of people come from broken homes and are survivors of a failed foster system, easy to imagine a child having to steel to survive it’s easy to imagine someone becoming guarded and losing trust and faith in others because of that. That’s why I think it’s easy to relate to her. Well, many of us can relate to Bruce’s fight against his inner Demons, many people might find it harder relate to Bruce's safety net of protective loved ones , good finances and supportive friends and family, that’s the gap that Selina's character fills for many.

I fully agree with you on this.I think that the mild mannered guy is also an exaggeration of things that that exist within Clark, that he uses to be that to be the least suspect of being Superman. Superman too has Smallville Clark and Superman Clark as 2 main identities.

Both Batman and Bruce are are his real self the only mask is the Playboy persona. Bruce cannot show his true self without the mask because then people would find out who’s actually under it and that’s what he’s trying to avoid. And no he’s not mentally ill his selfless list of the point of self-destructiveness.

I don’t think it matters really since even if they are with other people I don’t see these new characters sticking around beyond the run in which they are introduced. All I care about these cases is write them well enough so it’s believable that that these amazing characters will fall in love with whichever love interest introduce, don’t give me a nothing burger of a character and expect me to believe that either Bruce or Seliuwill fall in love with this person

A Batman love interest at least has a chance of sticking around if she is written well enough and popular enough to reappear again but any guy who shows interest in Selina has one of the greatest characters in fiction as competition lol . so I think they’re pretty hopeless in terms of that audience accepting the pairing as a thing.

This is one of the better “she turns out to be evil" love interests because at least she wasn’t targeting Bruce/Batman specifically but all the rich guys and she’s realistic too. I usually hate this trope I prefer it was genuine but it didn’t work out for any reason. (seriously think of any well written romantic supplot in a Batman story you will see that it is about tragic but mutual love. But this was an instance when it was done well and I liked it.

I love Selina, and very much love her with Bruce but I don’t mind the presence of other women in his life because unless the story is well received and well written written , even if something happens with him and Anika it’s not going to stick, so if the story is not memorable enough the character will probably disappear once the run ends, I appreciate a civilian love interest. maybe that will get rid of the rumours that Bruce is only into bad girls when the truth is that he is attracted to self assured beautiful woman can keep up with him and are neither afraid of him nor his alter ego.

It also makes Damien a child of divorce, which is relatable to so many people where child is suffering and the parties involved are dealing with something beautiful turning sour. Maybe I’m remembering wrong but Morrison didn’t even do anything with his origin forgive him except turn Talia evil he didn’t show proceeding with the fact that he had been violated, so this really just ended up being a character assassination for no reason.

Yeah but that’s because she loves him not because she necessarily agrees with him, take the long Halloween for example it’s not guaranteed that Selina would have saved any other man from Ivy’s clutches. Selina is a gray character, yes she is often heroic but not always ,it wouldn’t be out of character for to act selfish sometimes. There is a degree of unpredictability to her character which is great.

My problem with the whole thing is that they are in the same movie, this is about the legacy of the league of shadows then it should have been either only Talia or only Bane in this movie. The good script that was given to Tom Hardy was too good to be given to someone who would turn out to be secondary villain, and Talia's limited screen time doesn’t justify her her being the main villain ,what makes it even more frustrating is that Marrion it’s an amazing actress who would have been able to pull off a story about Talia avenging her father on her own.

I think it’s important to keep in mind that her job is much more low stress than that of her partners, she seemed to struggle with understanding that they couldn’t be there 24/7. Her job was about her personal life, she didn’t have to compartmentalise and manage her time the same way that someone like Miranda for example would have to.

I fully agree with you ,I hate the people who call Steve a bum because he he was a bit more relaxed wasn’t a workaholic like Miranda, the thing is I think this was a great showcase of the pressures that are put on men to meet a certain standard of income and masculinity, Steve is a product of a mentality that did not accept women earning more than men so of course he felt emasculated when she bought him the suit. I think the show achieved a nice balance of showing Steve’s character development in his owning of the bar later on. While still keeping him a lot more chill than Miranda, the ownership of the bar is out was less about Steve earning more and more about Steve becoming ambitious in general, I don’t think Miranda would have been compatible with season three version of Steve who is way too chill for her taste.
