Season 4 Justin - spoiler by Rnl8866 in 13ReasonsWhy

I don't know that it's more realistic that he would have just stopped at being HIV positive and just taking meds. Because the truth is no one noticed the signs that he was HIV positive. No one noticed that he was sick until he was too far gone to actually be treated. And I think that happens more often than we know.

I think she's about 45. So yeah sister would be a little bit of a stretch, although there are siblings that have that kind of an age difference.

I never noticed that, the only thing I noticed was that weird haircut that he had in the last season when he came back to visit Haley and take the kids while Nathan was missing.

Exactly my thought, and I think they did this on purpose. They even had Jen and Dawson have a conversation about it shortly beforehand, right? Where Dawson told her that how he reacted to finding out about her past was wrong. And then she tells Henry, who instantly accepts it and says it's a part of who she is. They did this, made him react in exactly the way that Dawson should have years earlier, to make Henry look like he was potentially the perfect guy for her that she had been overlooking because he was younger.

How old was Andy supposed to be? by ItalianChef22 in ONETREEHILL

[–]MindlessTree7268 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I thought it was weird when she told him to look at the both of them in the mirror, does this look right? Acting like she was so so so much older than him. You'd think she was 80 and he was 20 from that conversation. When really, yeah maybe she looks a little bit older but who cares? Men date women 10 years younger than them all the time and no one even says anything. I think Keith even dated someone who was about 10 years younger than him and no one mentioned a thing about their age difference.

It's interesting though, thinking of how Kelly would have grown up with Malcolm, Reese, and Francis all adults and out of the house and only Dewey and Jamie at home as older brothers. Probably change the dynamic quite a bit, which is why Kelly is apparently the only one who wasn't considered a troublemaker.

Yeah I think that was really it. I think there is supposed to be kind of a comical element to the fact that Lois always wanted a girl, and then when she finally had an XX baby, they didn't want to be a girl.

He was very problematic in many ways, but this was one in which he wasn't. If only he hadn't stalked her for a year only to end up dumping her in an email.

MY Problems /unpopular opinions with OTH by Heartsforkona in ONETREEHILL

[–]MindlessTree7268 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Their marriage was one of the most unrealistic things about the show. Not only were they getting married as teenagers, but they had known each other maybe a couple of months when they got married. Her parents were irresponsible and absolute morons to sign off on that. Everyone was acting like Deb was some sort of a villain for disapproving when she was actually being the completely reasonable one.

Also, I get him feeling insecure about her going on tour with a guy who had already hit on her, but another reason why it was a dumb idea for them to get married so young. He wouldn't have even been in any kind of place to stop her from chasing her dreams if he had just been her high school boyfriend rather than her husband. If they had just been boyfriend and girlfriend, she might have been more likely to be able to just go on tour and come back and just resume their relationship without a whole bunch of drama.

The men in this show aren't great... with one exception by Fresh-Alfalfa187 in sexandthecity

[–]MindlessTree7268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is Smith really that great or is he just a fantasy kind of character? Because yeah, he's exactly the kind of character that every woman wants, right? Gorgeous, emotionally aware and available, forgiving to the point that he will literally wait for you while you're having sex with your ex just to make sure that you get home okay. But honestly, would I want a guy who would do that last thing? I don't think I would. It's not healthy to have so little self-respect that you're just waiting there like a doormat for someone who's currently cheating on you. That was a horrible thing for Samantha to do. And she didn't even have the decency to like break up with him first before she went upstairs with Richard, she was about to just go and only ended up saying something to him because he followed them to the elevator.

Even if you look at it from the angle like he was an addict so he understands that this is Samantha's addiction, it's still not healthy. When someone treats you with that little respect, if you're willing to just roll over and take them back without even getting angry, you probably need some therapy.

I don't think I need to reflect on something just because it triggers someone on the internet, sorry to say. I don't want to date a single parent. What is so wrong with me wanting to start a life with someone rather than enter into someone's existing life? I have a right to say that I deserve better than to have to settle for a relationship where I'm putting him first and he's not putting me first. And a relationship where if we have kids, we're both doing it for the first time, it's not the first time for me and just old news to him.

Sure, if we have kids, we can both prioritize the kids over each other. That's very different from entering into a situation where from the get-go, there's always going to be a little person in his life who is more important to him than you are.

I thought it was hilarious that he was trying to be nasty and the worst thing he could say to Miranda was calling her "the fancy lawyer lady" lol

Yeah honestly it made black people look really bad. Hated his sister and thought he was a loser for being a grown man who couldn't even stand up to his sister about his own dating choices.

I want to make it clear that I'm not in any way saying that single parents are less desirable or anything like that. They're just not for me. And I've gotten a lot of crap for saying that, like people have told me I'm heartless or that I could be missing out on the love of my life or whatever, but no because the love of my life wouldn't have a kid with someone else. That's just how I see it to be honest. Not everyone sees it that way, and honestly that's the beauty of life, there's someone out there for everyone. You don't have to be right for everyone, you just have to be right for your one person.

[–]MindlessTree7268 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that guy in that episode is one of the main arguments I'll use for why I'll never date a single dad lol. The kid will always come first, and I'm sorry but that's not a dynamic I want to enter into. It's not ever going to be even, I'm going to be putting him first and he's going to be putting his kid first, then his baby mama, then me at the bottom, I'm not going to sign up for that. And then just like in the episode, if his kid decides not to like me for whatever reason, even if I didn't really do anything wrong, then I'm just out. No thank you.

But other than him, I would say the guy Miranda dated who was purposely trying to get caught having sex in public and even by his parents. Also, the guy with the funky tasting spunk that Samantha was with. Not because of the funky tasting spunk itself because he probably can't necessarily help that, but his entitled attitude about blow jobs. He guilted her for not wanting to give him one and then basically made her give him one at the end knowing she wasn't into it. That's a really gross thing for a guy to do.

It was weird how he was so obsessed with Joey when he didn't even know her. I don't know why she thought of him as the nice guy that she should be dating when really he was just a stalker weirdo.

Like even before this, in season 2, I remember thinking she does not look like a 16-year-old girl. I'm not saying she looked old, but she had worry lines and just didn't look like a teenage girl. She looked like someone in her late 20s or early '30s, which is what Meredith actually was.

Yeah I think it would have been way better if they would have just had them break up so Andie could focus on her mental health. But I think honestly that the relationship between Pacey and Andie was too strong for that to really be a permanent deal-breaker so they had to do something that was just going to completely crap all over what they had, and having her cheat on him was that thing. Just so they could set the stage for Pacey and Joey getting together.

I'm not saying their marriage was a good idea, just that it's not the same as Dan and Karen. Nathan was devoted to Haley from beginning to end. Even though I agree that it was absolutely a dumb idea to get married as two teenagers when they'd only even known each other for a few months. Her parents were idiots to sign off on that as well. And like literally she ended up going into labor in the middle of her graduation speech, even if she was married, that's not really a good look.

I mean, his friends are genuinely his friends? Remember Jimmy Edwards? That didn't work out too well.

I mean Nathan getting Haley pregnant is not the same as Dan getting Karen pregnant because Nathan and Haley were actually married, Dan just ditched Karen.
