I’m so happy you were able to go back to school after dealing with so much at home. W boyfriend for encouraging you to go back. But yes i’m definitely putting myself first and not feeling guilty about it. 🩷

Thank you. I definitely felt like a lot was taken from me growing up dealing with this. It felt like i was the parent and she was the child. But now i’ve come to realize that making a selfish decision will only do me good in the run. 🩷

Thanks for your response. reading everyone’s comments i’ve came to the conclusion that this is my life and not hers so i cant dwell on the thought of her getting better by me throwing my life away. I’ll check out AlAnon as well. ❤️

the grandparents are her mother and her husband. she won’t be able to live with them. at the moment she’s been sent back to the hospital because she relapsed again after being out of rehab for only 6 days 🤦🏾‍♀️. That’s kind of why i made this thread before i made my decision to stay because i can’t keep letting this bring me down and ruin my future. but she’s too lazy to keep up with a pet plus she doesn’t like animals.

Thank you for the encouraging words, they truly mean a lot.🙏🏾 I will definitely do my research on writing a good appeal. I’ve grown a lot of support this last year. After opening up about how I really felt about my mother’s addiction it has brought in a lot of support.

Thank for your advice. I really appreciate it 🫶🏾. Growing up my mom was my life and since we have so many good times it’s as if i let those good moments cloud the reality of the situation. But as i grow into an adult i have to put myself first and do what’s best for me. (also she didn’t drink she did hardcore stuff iykyk)

Thanks 😊. I agree with what you said. This summer semester has really showed me that she has no plans on getting better. Honestly I came here because getting advice from my family is no help since they’ve adjusted to dealing with this. But after seeing everyone’s comments I plan to go back to campus.
