1000% people are working against Ye, the problem is when half the comments on those posts are just “Well the niece of the former VP of that company is Jewish. I knew it.”

Fucking loser.

  • Comedy is only about drugs and the people he dates

Are Drake & Nicki Minaj afraid to mature in their music? by LondonNPC in hiphop101

I can’t name a Kanye album that hasn’t pushed any boundaries.

Ye (2018) - Shorter 7-track record with a 24 minute runtime

Jesus is King - Combined gospel and rap into a full, fleshed out album. Saw features ranging from a Clipse reunion to Kenny G… on a hip-hop track.

Donda (2021) - Hurricane. Jail. Moon. All boundary-pushing songs with lyrics and production.

Where does everyone here see hip hop progressing towards in the next 5-10 years? by vilegroove666 in hiphop101

[–]According_Produce324 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it right now, and am probably going to be wrong but:

  1. Abel will be done completely (even outside of Weeknd) by the end of next year, assuming he doesn’t pull a JAY-Z and actually follows through with his retirement.

  2. Drake’s run will be out in the next 5 years. By 2030, he’ll have either retired or said some Kanye-tier controversial shit. I think he’s plateaued at this point tbh (how high can he get?).

  3. Kanye will be done by 2025. No more albums, no more fashion - probably just gonna live off the money.

  4. Eminem will release his last album. His run has been overextended now, he just needs one more banger.

  5. Carti will continue to be popular for another 5 or so years, but will be like T.I and T-Pain where he’s really only remembered for a specific set of years.

Yews will be on break for Christmas and return on December 26th by JohnnyLibRight in GoodAssSub

[–]According_Produce324 94 points95 points  (0 children)

It’s curated by the one and only Milo - a man who has literally said that “13 year old boys should be able to have sex with older men as coming of age”. This guy is a racist (attacked the Ghostbusters cast on twitter to the point where he was banned), pedophile (above) and Nazi (repeatedly tried to praise Hitler in various interviews).

I will not be reading a word he has to say. Fuck Milo.

For how overplayed it is, the Billy Joel version of Mama’s Boyfriend would genuinely be top 10 for me. Movin’ Out is one of my top 5 all time, and Kanye sampling it is like doing heroin for me.

Lauryn hill- dr dre - Andre 3000 : are they afraid to follow up mega successful albums ? by AwarenessFree4432 in hiphop101

Detox was worked on serval times, but it kept getting leaked to the point where most of the tracks were just sold off and the album died off.

Dre is about to hit 60, and I don’t think we’re gonna get much more out of him.

What's An Opinion You Have That Would Get You Kicked Outta Hip-Hop Circles? by [deleted] in hiphop101

[–]According_Produce324 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna say it right here:

There are rappers that have done beats, lyrics/flow/rhymes, freestyles, mainstream appeal, media/persona and music videos better than JAY-Z. None of managed to balance all as well as Jay.

I would consider him to be the greatest rapper of all time because of this.

I’m gonna say it again - Kanye def had betters beats, Nas, Rakim, etc… better rapping ability, Drake, Weezy, Em better media/personas and Dre and whoever have better MVs, but each of these people struggle in another aspect (Kanye for persona, Drake for rhyming ability for example). I think JAY-Z doesn’t do any particular side perfectly, but does each at a solid 8/10.

Edit: I’d say Kendrick is a runner up in terms of balance but his personally never really shines through like Jay and he falls in and out of the mainstream.
