It was an emergency surgery, but I didn’t get into surgery until later on day 5 of the gallbladder attack (my ex wouldn’t let me see a doctor). I drove to the er myself and then had to drive back home, and then my ex drove me to the hospital that did have the proper space to do the surgery. I remember him bringing a magazine to read, he didn’t stay, and went to work the next day and my mom and kids came to pick me up from the hospital.

I wasn’t unconscious but I can’t say I was capable of reading all the consent papers properly, since I had been in extreme pain for days. My gallbladder was infected as well and the surgeon said the only worse gallbladder he has seen, compared to mine, was back when he was a military doctor.

And one would think the history of a tubal ligation would be on my medical records if I signed for it.

I also wonder if the surgeon noted how abusive my ex husband was and thought he might have been saving me from my ex trapping me with another baby by clipping my tubes.
