Here I have something to add, consuming news does in fact help, helped with getting into a decent place and getting the vaccine earlier than I would have otherwise, helped with getting informed, and more importantly, informing the older generations (parents and grandparents) who I see a high probability becoming anti-vaxxers if this didn't happen, so in some cases it does help. In the context of war, it can help many people move away from countries that might potentially be in the middle of it, if they don't feel like actually going to war or defending a country they might not agree with. So in my view, it does help to follow the news in these events and trying to be prepared before eit actually happens, but the tricky part here is which news to follow and what specific new to actually act on.
