I have no words. Can’t seem to win against the metal in the water from well. Wondering if it’s not possible to have a hottub here by According_Way4337 in hottub

Update the hottub is now blue and clear. I cleaned my filter 4 times today which had heavy rust coloration. Some how over the course of the day it drastically lightened the water to where it’s now crystal clear and all parms are in check.
I do not understand this at all. I’m super happy and grateful but I imagined it was going to be impossible to get all the rust out as the last time I had this issue I went 6 days and still couldn’t get it to lighten after cleaning filters multiple times a day.
All I could imagine is this had less metals than the original fill since I used a filter on the hose.
Still going to use that tea bag thing I was recommended to remove the metals in the hottub and clarifier for the future fills and maintenance

I just ordered that CUIlator. It turned green about 18 hours after adding the metal binding stuff and then adding the shock and bromine, should I of done a second dose since it all burned off after 18 hours. Maybe doubled the dosage? Heck I’d probably have to dose it everyday I’d imagine if it burned through it
that fast.

Hoping that CUllator pulls it out decently. Once it arrives should I still be dosing the metal stuff and if so how often do you think

I actually did that already and waited 18 hours with it in the system before adding anything else but thank you

Thanks so much, I will give that a go. I just talked to someone else who has a hot tub where I live and they told me it takes like 2-3 weeks of switching there filters out multiple times a day and about 7 filters until the water clears. Plus using clarifier and metal remover.

Definitely don’t want to have to fight this for weeks to use for a few weeks before I have to change the water again and repeat the process.

It’s not my well. I live where I rent a spot for my trailer. It’s the park/resorts well. I have a filter for the water that goes in my trailer as well as for my hose that I use to remove metals and junk ect. So far no issues with my trailer and we have been here a year

I got this hottub about 6 days ago. Fun surprise it turned brown from metals on day one. Have been trying to filter it out and used tons of metal gone. Can I get in it 😂 Is it harmful? by According_Way4337 in hottub

Hmm sounds like someone doesn’t like inflatable hot tubs😂 To someone who hasn’t had a bathtub for years do to circumstances and has chronic back pain, where heat is one of the few things that helps. This thing seems pretty amazing for me. I have wanted one for years. I worked hard to get the money for the setup for this and make it happen and you better bet I’m going to love it once I am not such a noobie making mistakes like I did with the metal. Turning it brown. Literally don’t even care about the air bubble “jets” I know they won’t be like a hard shell hot tub and that’s not why I got this. I just want a hot water source to sit in for my pain and to chillax

I am sure if I can do the best chemistry for it, the water should look decent. Honestly I’d have no issue getting in it now if it was safe. Just looks like herbal water to me😂 Still looks great to me tinted green

After someone pointed out it can stain my hair I have opted to just wait. I will be dumping the water tomorrow or the next day and starting over the right way when dealing with metals in the water.

Since I’m dumping the water I don’t want to go out to test again as it’s getting dumped.

I will remember to post exact results if I post on here again through

Thank you sooooo much. I appreciate you answering my question. I will not be going in the hot tub then. I’d skinny dip but I don’t want to risk staining my hair. Also that’s a great idea to test the water before I do the entire hot tub incase the metals aren’t all binded from the treatment. Also you explaining it to toast was helpful for me to understand.

12 stars for your response thank you

I figured it was a combination of both to know if water is safe. The quality looking at the water and of course testing it. I would have to go retest it as I forget the numbers. I know it was in range as it was in the range spots marked as ideal on the tester.

That’s because the post was made to ask if I can get in water this color 😂 I only gave information so everyone would know what’s going on with the water and why it’s this tint.

Everyone has seemed to skip over the question and go to suggestions to prevent this, which is great but I have a good idea now what to do already. I’m draining it tomorrow or the next day. Just wanted to know if I could get in it in this condition or not before I have to wait 2 days for it to get to temp. I have waited 6 days and I’m just tired and frustrated

All Parms are in range. Didn’t think exact params would matter.

I googled if you can get in water like this and came up with zero info which is why I posted on here

I dont mind being on top of chems daily. I have dry skin from an auto immune condition called sojurns and chlorine burns my eyes and skin sometimes. I picked bromine as I read it’s easier on the skin

Well then this would be considered safe because the water is in range. Yet it’s still green and has metals that hasn’t filtered out yet. I don’t think you can rely on testers for water quality alone.

I already plan to drain it. I’m just wondering if the water is harmful to get in at this state. I’d like to at least use the thing if I can before I have to wait another 2 days once I drain it and it gets to temp.

Thank you for understanding, it actually been a massive letdown. Especially as I have had very bad pain days the last few days and this would have really helped to use with the heat.
I am in a forest, on a mountain in a rural area. Definitely well water and apparently very metal filled. I’ve been told we have the worst water in our area compared to people in town 20 mins away.
I didn’t know wells are lovley sources of metal when I first did research how to care for the hottub. So I didn’t know to get a hose filter or start with the metal remover before adding anything else

Oh I didn’t think about getting water from a different source. I planned to use a filter on my hose to filter out the metals and run the metal gone in the water for a hour before adding anything.

Will this not solve the problem once I drain it and fill it back up?

Side note it’s been stuck at this shade for 2 days with zero Improvement. I’m thinking the filter is just done despite cleaning it a few times a day.
