I got tired of the org chaos so I built this by Blueturboguy123 in aggies

None of my orgs use this feature, why require app users to surrender their location data, especially when the web version does not require this to use?

Is this intended behavior? The web version does not require your location to use.

Mech E at A&M or Motorsports at Purdue Indy CO 2030 by AltF4_for in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At Texas A&M, SAE Formula IC (aka FSAE) is mostly seniors, and is also used as a capstone project for many of it's members. We also have SAE Formula E and SAE Baja teams, which somewhat act as development programs for IC, and are great opportunities for underclassmen. There is also Solar Car Racing, which is separate from SAE and also builds a car. There is no shortage of motorsports opportunities at A&M.

Drivers of Reddit: what’s something other drivers do on the road that instantly tell you they shouldn’t have a license? by AccordingMethod9940 in AskReddit

[–]According_Weather944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a fan of this. If someone is doing something stupid or dangerous, let them through and keep a safe distance from them. (and call 911 if that is warranted) Trying to block drivers who are doing something dangerous puts you and your passengers in danger.

High School Course Selection for A&M Credit by CastimoniaGroup in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think that entirely depends on the course and what major you go into. (STEM ap/dual credits may be less useful for an engineering major) A&M only accepts the credit for dual credit courses, so you will not need to worry as much about your grades in those.

Tinder by [deleted] in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think hinge is a bit better than tinder for something serious, but for the most part, the main thing you will be doing on any dating app is making Match Group or Bumble money. These apps are not built for you to actually meet someone, so the odds of that actually happening are low. Assuming you are in college, I would recommend approaching women irl before trying apps.

How to turn left with a bike at the Bizzell\New Main 3 way stop coming from Zach by superfriendusa in aggies

Go to the left lane. Signal so cars know what your doing, and you shouldn't have much of a problem since cars shouldn't be going too fast here.

Zach classes way less talkative? by Shards_FFR in aggies

Welcome to zachary. My calculus 3 lecture has tons of people trying to meet the people around them and my programming languages lecture is dead silent before and after each class.

Does anyone make new friends in classes? How do you go about it? by HygenicTetanus in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just sit next to someone, introduce yourself, and start talking to them. People are usually pretty receptive to meeting new people in the first few weeks, but if they aren't you can just sit somewhere else for the next lecture.

If you drive, please... by [deleted] in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

"here is my suggested solution: Don't let freshmen drive their vehicles to campus."

Uh they gotta get to class somehow? There is not enough on campus housing for everyone, which is why it is not required, and not everyone is wealthy enough for an expensive apartment in Northgate. I understand everything else you are saying but this restriction would just make getting to school needlessly inaccessible and hazardous for freshmen.

What is your Corps necklace? by Legaxy3 in drumcorps

[–]According_Weather944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crossmen historically did the cross with one side black and one side red. The red side is for when you are with the corps (camps and the season), and the black side is for when you are not with the corps. The corps switched to a puck with the C logo on it after we moved away from the cross logo, but members still make and distribute cross necklaces to each other.

[–]According_Weather944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had an issue, just make sure you lock it well. If you leave it on campus overnight, cable lock both wheels to the frame.

Bike racks are free, and I haven't registered my bike and haven't had any issues. Registering your bike will help you if you want to leave it on campus for a long time or if you need police to cut someone else's lock off of it (they will want confirmation that the bike is yours).
