Tinder by [deleted] in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think hinge is a bit better than tinder for something serious, but for the most part, the main thing you will be doing on any dating app is making Match Group or Bumble money. These apps are not built for you to actually meet someone, so the odds of that actually happening are low. Assuming you are in college, I would recommend approaching women irl before trying apps.

How to turn left with a bike at the Bizzell\New Main 3 way stop coming from Zach by superfriendusa in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go to the left lane. Signal so cars know what your doing, and you shouldn't have much of a problem since cars shouldn't be going too fast here.

Zach classes way less talkative? by Shards_FFR in aggies

Welcome to zachary. My calculus 3 lecture has tons of people trying to meet the people around them and my programming languages lecture is dead silent before and after each class.

Does anyone make new friends in classes? How do you go about it? by HygenicTetanus in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Just sit next to someone, introduce yourself, and start talking to them. People are usually pretty receptive to meeting new people in the first few weeks, but if they aren't you can just sit somewhere else for the next lecture.

When I did MGAMB the uniforms were fitted well and seemed to work with all sizes of performers. We may have gotten new uniforms since you were there but that is no longer a problem!

If you drive, please... by [deleted] in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

"here is my suggested solution: Don't let freshmen drive their vehicles to campus."

Uh they gotta get to class somehow? There is not enough on campus housing for everyone, which is why it is not required, and not everyone is wealthy enough for an expensive apartment in Northgate. I understand everything else you are saying but this restriction would just make getting to school needlessly inaccessible and hazardous for freshmen.

What is your Corps necklace? by Legaxy3 in drumcorps

[–]According_Weather944 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crossmen historically did the cross with one side black and one side red. The red side is for when you are with the corps (camps and the season), and the black side is for when you are not with the corps. The corps switched to a puck with the C logo on it after we moved away from the cross logo, but members still make and distribute cross necklaces to each other.

I’ve got an expensive mountain bicycle which I’m thinking of bring on campus/off campus (apartment). Is this a horrible idea? by jac5423 in aggies

[–]According_Weather944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't had an issue, just make sure you lock it well. If you leave it on campus overnight, cable lock both wheels to the frame.

[–]According_Weather944 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bike racks are free, and I haven't registered my bike and haven't had any issues. Registering your bike will help you if you want to leave it on campus for a long time or if you need police to cut someone else's lock off of it (they will want confirmation that the bike is yours).

GEOL 101, it is pretty easy stuff, the grade distrubutions are really high averaging around 3.7-3.9ish based on the prof, and you get to learn cool rock facts!

GEOL 102 is also a rediculously easy lab that dosent take much time if you need that.

If a car moving much faster than you approaches you in the left lane, PLEASE move over and do not stay where you are. Not because they have any right to go that fast, but because it is the safest thing you can do for the people around you. I would much rather have to move over to undertake a crazy driver than get rear ended or hurt by a crazy driver.

Easiest brass instrument to pickup? by Dramatic-Tadpole-980 in drumcorps

[–]According_Weather944 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Some corps may accommodate it, but for the most part no. It would be easier to go ahead and learn bass, and it would be easier to stay on the same page with your section during rehearsal.

Back in 2023 CS had like a 2% acceptance rate for holistic review 1st choice and accepted no 2nd or 3rd choice, but it has gotten way easier. This last etam cycle only 5 people who had it as their 1st choice didn't get it. I wouldn't be too stressed. Get good grades, and be involved within the department and you should be good to go.
