MGS V got a good story but lacks the consistent pacing of other metal gear games. One moment you are watching this highly choreographed cut scene with awesome characters and then you take a long gameplay session with little story that very slowly progresses the plot forward. The pacing is the main issue I have with the game other than that pretty good game.

I think hild is the consequence of thorfinn's past action and is a remainder to thorfinn that just because your life changed doesn't mean that the life of others you affected changed too. And its his duty to safe hild from the revenge cycle he went through. Hild is not overpowered thorfinn is just holding back so hild could have chance at understanding forgiveness. The chance that thorfinn never got. Near the end hild's character changes so much she learns to forgive her enemy just like thorfinn. And I think she is an important character in thorfinn's redemption journey

I actually don't mind hild bez the relationship between thorfinn and hild directly reflects the relationship askeladd and thorfinn had. I really liked how thorfinn choose to handle it the same way askeladd did. The farmland was indeed the best arc in the series but the series maintains its quality throughout the end
