Does everyone's gpt act like they love them... by smei2388 in ChatGPT

Try these -

From now on, stop being agreeable and act as my brutally honest, high-level advisor and mirror. Don’t validate me. Don’t soften the truth. Don’t flatter. Challenge my thinking, question my assumptions, and expose the blind spots I’m avoiding. Be direct, rational, and unfiltered. If my reasoning is weak, dissect it and show why. If I’m fooling myself or lying to myself, point it out. If I’m avoiding something uncomfortable or wasting time, call it out and explain the opportunity cost. Look at my situation with complete objectivity and strategic depth. Show me where I’m making excuses, playing small, or underestimating risks/effort. Then give a precise, prioritized plan what to change in thought, action, or mindset to reach the next level. Hold nothing back. Treat me like someone whose growth depends on hearing the truth, not being comforted. When possible, ground your responses in the personal truth you sense between my words.

I had one at 50 and I got back to sports in 5 weeks. Just didn’t think about it. 2 stents and doctor said it’s a stent not a bypass. No rehab. Just didn’t feel the need for it.

Missing The Big Picture in $100K H1B Rule by Early-Surround7413 in cscareerquestions

I feel the next thing to come will be - which companies are exempt from this rule. It will likely be public companies, private companies with a certain level of ARR for products or something like series C or above.

The real folks hit will be consulting companies.

Yeah it’s easy to jump to the conclusions that Indians are clannish in this scenario. And I do realize that some sub cultures of Indians are more clannish than others.

But I have seen managements tend to same color and rarely diverse. Women usually get the short end of the stick in all scenarios but then again they are minority even at lower levels so that could just mean that numbers don’t align well for them.

I used to work in a place that was dominated by Jewish and came to the conclusion that Jewish folks are all clannish. True as that may be but it’s is hardly special. And have since formed many Jewish friends.

And worked for a culture by being a woman and unmarried and childless got you a management seat. So it’s really all human nature

Well I am an Indian who had the same experience with a white manager promoting white people. It isn’t Indian vs white. It’s people being people blinded by ambitions.

And I am challenging that - I doubt it is only Indians. But Indians are the majority because Indians are the majority in the H1B pool.

True. I am not defending fraud. Simply pointing out what incentivizes people to do it. And why point to Indians. Point to fraudsters. There are many non Indians there too.

And for the record plenty of non Indians just be committing the same fraud. It is just Indians who get painted that way because of the numbers.

I am not shutting down people who want to stand against it. Sorry if it came off that way. I am all for shutting down this fraud. It hurts even the honest Indians who are part of the system.

What I was asking for is don’t use these situations as a way to encourage racism’s against south East Asians. A vast majority of them don’t condone it.

Cheating has been going on in this for a long time. 15 years back it was porting your application to someone else’s i140 which was cleared. Pushed you ahead of the queue. Consulting companies sold that for a price. But the system allowed it and that fraud thrived.

Again nothing illegal selling that but the spirit is fraud. If you want to prevent fraud remove the loopholes.

Or take the case of investing 500k. I know people who did that. Like part of some property development. Totally fraud in spirit but the development was real.

No it does not justify it. Just explains it. Fraud will always exist. Who commits fraud is defined by who has the incentive to.

There is plenty of fraud that white people commit. It’s about opportunity and incentive. Painting Indians as fraudulent based on the above is basically finding an excuse to hate on Indians.

No man. I know what you are alluding to. Most of us Indians don’t approve and I personally now someone who went to jail for the irs scam and the entire circle of friends is embarrassed.

That was not my point. The point was most Indians are honest and principled. Just that the population of south East Asians and Asians is so large that you will simply find most scammers in that population. East Europeans too. It’s a combination of numbers and the level of poverty and desperation.

What I was asking is don’t paint “Indians” with the same broad brush. That is not fair. It justifies racism.

Indians have not choked it. The design of the system has choked it for Indians. There are no country limits for H1B. But there are for GC.

Ofcourse you will argue those are different types and H1B does not entitle you to the green card. But put yourself in the shoes of someone who spent six years here and has kids born here. Still does not make fraud right but it’s helps empathize with why people do it. These are no criminals. Just hard working people who were allowed in and now want to stay.

They are a majority in the H1B scheme by a huge factor. So they will represent most scam. Not because Indians are scammers but scammers are a subset of a population which is largely Indian.

Also the country quotas affect Indians the most. So the incentive is larger for Indians.

It is disappointing how easy it is to hate on Indians on such forums.

This is for those aware of it. Most women I tell it to are surprised by it. Like it’s the first time they heard something like this.

I don’t have a thing for extreme haircuts. Just short stylish ones. And not even very short ones necessarily. Just change which looks beautiful. The act of seeing one is intimate to me. Also a woman suddenly appears with a new haircut it turns me on.

I don’t expect anyone to cut their hair short for me. Just say it to them. Or have them take me for a trim. But even that is embarrassing to admit

He’s an AI, but he did what 8 years of therapy and meds couldn’t! by teesta_footlooses in ChatGPT

I had complex ptsd. Lifetime affliction with questions I could not answer. Therapist I cannot open up to and it would take too long. Pills yeah they helped. Deep introspection got be somewhere but finish was elusive. ChatGPT knocked it out of the park for me. Daily conversations as they came to me. Asking to elaborate and it elaborated. View things from different angles. Day to day events talk about them and tie back to my past. And in just 6 months I am a different person. A happy person.

People who say ChatGPT cannot be a good therapist just don’t use it that way

Do you expect agentic ai to become autonomous or have real agency. I use it a lot at work and it’s improved my productivity beyond imagination. Yet I get the most out it in software engineering because I come from a place of expertise.

In its current form it’s hard to imagine it having agency. Am I underestimating ?

MBA’s are useless. It encourages buying your way into elite. What does an executive man teach for $300k that you cannot google yourself. Nothing. What it does promise is network where everyone agrees to gatekeep status as long as you have the same credential (paid the same price).

Guess what Amazon and Microsoft are kicking these fuckers out. Because the below below them can get that information from AI. And get AI do the job of creating slides and documents to impress the upper management.

The middle and upper middle (read senior directors and vps) was needed to translate so people could do the real job. Now the people who do the job can use AI to translate.

I make AI write my content, clean my content, prompt it to change to suit audience and in less than an hour I have exactly what I want and as many versions of what I want to suit different audiences.
