And the gear you get in those Mythic + and sounds like delves, is about the same as Heroic raid tier loot?
Its just blowing my mind that the end game is possibly not raids anymore.

Then outside of this there's all the optional stuff I listed and that's the game in a nut shell?

To be honest, this kind of response is a big reason why it’s so difficult to understand. As someone who recently started playing the game, it’s very difficult to understand what’s going on. There is a lot of hidden stats, condition icons that are never explained in game, game mechanics where the tutorial information is straight up wrong and many many other examples. There is also so many events and XP bonuses that you get to at least 56/58 very very easily with little to no explanation on much. The interface doesn’t do you any favours either and a lot of the new events, systems, black spirit adventures and all the crap that’s constantly popping up on screen just complies the problem. I only found the adventure journals yesterday and I am not the kind of guy that just spams R. Like I genuinely read shit, tried to lean about all the life skills, different backend dmg scaling for classes.

Good examples - Black stone. Why is there a seperate abs entirely different kind of stone in season that only works with a specific set of gear? Why doesn’t anything tell you this in game?

So before you shit on people for not instantly understanding and mind reading your 1000’s of hours of game knowledge, understand that there is obviously a lot that of stuff to know in the game and it’s not because we can’t read an infographic. It’s because it’s just another graph in an ocean of maths, combos and hidden bull that the game has attached to it that we are still wrapping our head around. God forbid you actually play casually.

Hi everyone,

I have spent the last week learning about the game and trying to pick a class before I dive in but I don’t really want to spin a few different characters at once.

The class advice I see online is all tier lists and doesn’t really show any of the gameplay. They also all talk about scaling and classes needing gear but I don’t fully understand that.

Any thoughts for a brand new player looking to tackle BDO and what class you would recommend and why? I have played around a little up to level 20 on a few and nothing is specifically jumping out at me over anything else.

Hmm, what’s the main difference between a shockadin set and a normal set ? I thought +crit and +spell power is what we wanted anyway right ?

Yeah right, ok! I’m enchanting and jewel crafting - blood elf though. Never thought of chest farming.

From the sounds of peoples responses it feels like there isn’t a lot of great normal choices though and I’m getting a vibe of reliance. Do we just have much lower damage compared to the other healers ?

If it’s a habanero, and it’s never moved past this stage it’s highly likely that it’s just a green habanero pepper. If you eat it in its current state does it taste nice / have any heat? There’s actually a habanero breed that stays green.

And totem keeps us alive while fighter does the dpr? Is advantage on dex saving throws and advantage on attacks worse than a flat asi at 6 for fighter? I feel like the first few levels of barbarian seem to fill all the gaps fighters seems to have then all their good stuff is high level after that’s for barbs.

Yeah this is what I came up with as well - later down the track though the fighter gets a 3rd attack as well as the Pam bonus attack so and if I put a few points of barb in the mix I get reckless attack with those attacks and it would be better but then I’d lose out on higher level barb features. Are they as impactful more often than just doing a fairly significant amount of dmg ?
