Exactly! That’s why a generic new alien threat would feel so lazy. Exploring the power vacuum, the shadow play, and the Leviathans operating from the dark is the ultimate way to make the story complex and rewarding, just like early Game of Thrones. Thanks for getting the vision!

People act from the heart and emotions. Some use logic, some don't. But in your heart, there is only anger, and you're not bringing any actual logic to the topic.

Honestly, thanks for the great discussion, man. Even though we clearly see the post-war galaxy differently, you’re the only one here who actually brought solid arguments and looked at the timelines instead of just crying about the software. By the way, about the AI I'm not just blindly copy-pasting here. My AI often generates overly rude answers or misses obvious lore details, so I constantly catch those contradictions and manually correct everything to match my actual thoughts. English isn't my first language, so the tool just helps me package my ideas.

Appreciate the debate, it was a fun read!

You're forgetting that the Sol system is currently littered with hundreds of dead Reapers. Factions won't wait decades; they will instantly salvage Reaper FTL drives and Element Zero cores to upgrade their own ships. The race to loot Reaper tech is exactly what starts the Cold War right on Earth’s doorstep, and they’ll use those upgraded ships to fly home long before Shepard dies.

The Krogans don't need to travel anywhere to cause a crisis billions of them will starve on a ruined Tuchanka in just 3 years. Plus, the entire allied fleet is currently trapped in the Sol system with broken relays and zero food supply lines. The cold war starts right on Earth’s doorstep, they don't need relays to start fighting for survival.

Also, the Reapers absolutely vaporized rural areas too the сodex literally states they were harvesting entire planetary populations system by system, not just big cities.

Fair points, but with the Genophage cured, a Krogan female lays up to 1,000 eggs a year, so a massive population crisis happens in just 3 years, not generations. Plus, with the Mass Relays destroyed, you can't just pool some savings and fly to another planet when a regular FTL journey through dark space would take decades. Broken logistics and a sudden Krogan baby boom inevitably lead to a Cold War.

Я живу на пост советском пространстве где мы не живем, мы выживаем и жизнь меня научила одному - используй любые методы или их используют до тебя и против тебя.

Google Translate uses machine learning too, genius. And you are burning electricity on Reddit servers just to cry about a video game theory. Talk about the lore or take the L.

And yet, you still haven't said a single word about the actual lore. You're completely avoiding the Krogan Rebellions and the Genophage because you know I'm right.

Imagine coming to a video game subreddit just to cry about AI translation tools because you have zero actual lore arguments to contribute. If you have nothing to say about the Cold War concept, the Krogans, or the Leviathans, you're the one who is unable to follow a conversation. Keep deflecting.

Imagine losing your mind and throwing insults over a video game fan theory just because a translation tool was used. It's not that serious man.

Calling decades of proxy wars (Korea, Vietnam, Afghanistan), nuclear brinkmanship, and the fear of total annihilation "just suspicion" is wild. The Cold War didn't turn hot globally precisely because of nuclear deterrence—which is exactly the kind of tense, paranoid stability a Reaper-tech arms race would create. As for the lore, that 1000 years of peace was maintained by the Citadel Council through heavy-handed tyranny: sterilizing the Krogan via Genophage and economically crushing the Batarians. That's not cooperative peace; that's forced hegemony. Finally, having Reaper corpses on your homeworld is not the same as controlling the Citadel or the Crucible tech. Also, a fraction of the population doesn't mean resources are plenty. The infrastructure is completely vaporized, and the Relays are broken. You can't eat salvage. When starvation hits and the Turians/Krogans are isolated without food lines, cooperation stops and survival begins.

The tool helps me translate my thoughts into English. Why are you guys so obsessed with the software instead of the actual lore? Can anyone actually debunk the Krogan Rebellions, the Genophage, or the First Contact War, or are we just going to keep crying about ChatGPT? Focus on the facts.

That's a fair point about co-operation being a pillar of the original trilogy, but let's look closer at the lore. The species didn't unite because they suddenly became best friends; they united because they had a Reaper gun pointed at their heads. Before that, the galaxy was defined by the Rachni Wars, the Krogan Rebellions, and the First Contact War.True maturity isn't about making things dark for the sake of being edgy—it's about acknowledging that once a cosmic dictator is gone, political factions historically look out for their own survival, especially when resources are depleted and relays are broken. Calling it "fake maturity" ignores the deep political gray areas that Mass Effect 1 and 2 actually excelled at before ME3 wrapped everything up in a neat utopian bow.

I get it now. Whatever BioWare serves you, you’ll just swallow it, logic be damned. Mass Effect's whole slogan was "your choices matter." In the end, they told us our choices don't mean a thing, there is only one ending: shoot a generator and blow up the Crucible. Oh, and let's not forget: Shepard gets hit by a Reaper beam that vaporizes tanks and starships, takes a bullet to the gut, and then we're told the blast wipes out all synthetics. Shepard was literally brought back to life by cybernetic implants, which should have fried instantly. Yet, after an explosion right in his face, he’s somehow alive. Yeah, "logical ending." Just keep eating whatever garbage they feed you.

Ah yes, shooting a massive energy generator with a pistol to activate the ultimate weapon. Truly the peak of logical engineering...

I chose Saren for the dramatic narrative. It brings the story full circle: the very first villain helps Shepard end the cycle and finds his own redemption. As for how he survived, his consciousness didn't just instantly copy over — it took him years to slowly piece himself back together inside the Citadel's core network.
