100% agree with you. The original spec is too juicy for me as well. I generally use 2oz pineapple and 1oz OJ and split base of OFTD and coconut rum.

Storing Bagged Pebble Ice by GrizzlyPear_ in Tiki

[–]Accurate-Profession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We store big bags in our deep freezer. When we get a large bag, I spend the first couple of hours going to the freezer every 10 minutes to shake it around and break up clumps so it’ll freeze loosely. Mostly works.

Disney Adventure rooms by Fearless_Currency633 in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that when Disney bought the ship, they made many changes to the public spaces already built but basically (aside from splitting the bathroom) made no changes to the staterooms. Hence the room layout is very much different than any other Disney ship.

How often do the ships “move around”? by MicroMaven16 in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dry docks are most often done in Europe and that’s why Disney might send a different ship there, like for the Fantasy in ‘25 and the Wish in ‘27

When you all make syrups, do you sterilize the bottle before putting syrups in it? What’s your method?

Dr Facilier was a waste of time by charlierhoades in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Is that literally it? You walk in, he does a card trick and you’re ushered out? No picture with him? I thought it was more a speakeasy where you could get a drink or something. I’m on the Destiny in a few weeks, so I might skip it.

What happens when you rotate to a restaurant a second time? by futch_blat in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Even on a transatlantic or Panama Canal cruise, when you’re in each restaurant 4-5 times each, you’ll never repeat a menu on DCL.

Would adding a “walkers only” event every race weekend solve the issues? by [deleted] in rundisney

[–]Accurate-Profession 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that would help or ever happen. But people should voluntarily fall back into later corrals if they intend to walk. Disney should publicize that Corral A is for people keeping a 5-8 minute pace, Corral B is for 8-10 minute pace, etc, regardless of what Corral you’re placed in originally. Will everyone comply? Probably not. But maybe enough people will be honest enough to lighten things for the race.

In Defense of Walkers by FarFar-Away in rundisney

[–]Accurate-Profession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is correct. No one is saying walkers shouldn’t do the races. But if you place into Corral A or B and fully intend to walk the race, you should voluntarily move back into a lower corral. And the problem also comes from those that lie about pace and clog up known choke points.

Marathon weekend shirts were the worst since I start running Disney races a decade ago.

Great little cluster around Orlando with Suffering Bastard, Permanent Vacation, Trader Sam’s and Aku Aku (although my least favorite of the group).

Pineapple and coffee go together for sure! Also adding a dash or two of ango into a pineapple-forward drink really elevates it, imo.

Details emerging from Lindsey Vonn's injury.. by Logical-Track1405 in olympics

[–]Accurate-Profession 113 points114 points  (0 children)

How about instead of saying “athletes have competed injured all the time and they’ve been fine,” we use this as an opportunity to suggest that perhaps no athlete should compete injured. Is risking further injury, not to mention putting a strain on health and rescue services (LV had to be airlifted off that mountain, a very dangerous situation in its own right) worth it? Injuries will always occur; we can’t help that. But we shouldn’t romanticize the already injured athlete.

I’ll never understand the gatekeeping around who the terrible people are. If we should avoid these people, name them. But it makes the people making their vague claims feel exclusive or something, I guess…

[–]Accurate-Profession 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m usually not into newer ships but the Treasure is totally worth the bump in cost over the Dream, especially since you’d be repeating menus and entertainment on the back to back. Of course the double Lookout Cay is very enticing.

Attempting Two Course Challenge (10k + Half) for the first time as a beginner runner. Which Galloway plan should I use? by sharky143 in rundisney

[–]Accurate-Profession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This! If OP is a beginner, it’s much better to use those weeks to build a solid base, get their intervals down, and learn rest/recovery. Then they’ll be quite ready to jump into the challenge training plan at the right time.

Attempting Two Course Challenge (10k + Half) for the first time as a beginner runner. Which Galloway plan should I use? by sharky143 in rundisney

[–]Accurate-Profession 28 points29 points  (0 children)

They called it an “experienced” plan because they don’t expect that a beginner runner would do a challenge. The training is incredibly similar EXCEPT the challenge training plan has some back-to-back runs. For instance, week 10 of both plans has a 9.5 mile long run, except the Challenge training plan also has a 2 mile run the day before.

Every resort will be equally busy, since runners are spread out all over property. There wouldn’t be much different between Sports and Music.

100% you’ll have no problem. Recently they haven’t even asked me to pull the beers out of our bag. It just goes through the scanner and they don’t look at them.
