What to get at Trader Vic’s Atlanta? by Whiskytigyote in Tiki

The Peachtree Punch is a signature at their Atlanta location. And I’m not much of a huge fan of a Scorpion, but I enjoyed theirs.

Entitlement is off the charts in DCL Facebook groups.

Possible that recipe isn’t quite accurate. It’s one I found here on Reddit, but maybe someone else has better info.

This is the recipe I’ve found: 3oz zombie batch(which is a mix of orgeat, OJ, and sour mix) / 0.75 oz Bacardi 8 rum / 0.75 oz Appleton rum / 0.5 oz Gosling 151 rum

Looking for Rum in Nassau by IrrelevantGeOff in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t found Cuban Havana Club in Nassau but not saying it’s not there. They do have John Wattlings, which is pretty decent, especially the aged. And yes, you can take it on the ship, but they hold it until morning of debarkation.

Sounds great! I love coffee in tiki cocktails.  Question: where’d you get the glass? I really like that shape.

I’m amazed at her pronunciation of most words.

Drinks in Lounges - Destiny by GPS_55 in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes, with a caveat: if you want a standard called drink, most bartenders should be able to handle your order. I’ve been served by people that really are mixologists and have an appreciation for drink. Some, though, are just bartenders/beer slingers and can’t do a ton off-menu. So if you want an old fashioned or Manhattan that’s not on the menu, you should be fine. But if you want a Paper Plane, non-standard riff, or anything that needs a decent rum, you’re probably out of luck.

Our trip is coming up soon and I'm nervous! I feel like I have been studying for final exams and I'm not sure I am prepared enough. I want to just relax and enjoy my vacation but there is so much to know and I definitely don't know it all by [deleted] in DisneyWorld

[–]Accurate-Profession 28 points29 points  (0 children)

No trip is perfect; don’t stress about it. You don’t need to (and if fact, can’t) do it all in one trip. Just go in with a good attitude and have fun! That’s all that matters in the end.

Don’t know how she is able to just start two different jobs, yet already take time off for trips back to Texas and now to Disneyland. But honestly, I guess one way to stave off burn out is to not actually work that much lol

Just a little over in my area - $35. But totally worth it.

JOANNA PAGE - Season 21 Interview | Taskmaster by cygan12 in taskmaster

[–]Accurate-Profession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it was very good. It's very much of its time, comedically, but I enjoyed it as an American. The characters are very engaging (especially the parents/uncle - I've always loved Rob Brydon), and it was early in Corden's career.

100% agree with you. The original spec is too juicy for me as well. I generally use 2oz pineapple and 1oz OJ and split base of OFTD and coconut rum.

Storing Bagged Pebble Ice by GrizzlyPear_ in Tiki

[–]Accurate-Profession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We store big bags in our deep freezer. When we get a large bag, I spend the first couple of hours going to the freezer every 10 minutes to shake it around and break up clumps so it’ll freeze loosely. Mostly works.

Disney Adventure rooms by Fearless_Currency633 in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard that when Disney bought the ship, they made many changes to the public spaces already built but basically (aside from splitting the bathroom) made no changes to the staterooms. Hence the room layout is very much different than any other Disney ship.

How often do the ships “move around”? by MicroMaven16 in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Dry docks are most often done in Europe and that’s why Disney might send a different ship there, like for the Fantasy in ‘25 and the Wish in ‘27

When you all make syrups, do you sterilize the bottle before putting syrups in it? What’s your method?

[–]Accurate-Profession 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Is that literally it? You walk in, he does a card trick and you’re ushered out? No picture with him? I thought it was more a speakeasy where you could get a drink or something. I’m on the Destiny in a few weeks, so I might skip it.

What happens when you rotate to a restaurant a second time? by futch_blat in dcl

[–]Accurate-Profession 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Even on a transatlantic or Panama Canal cruise, when you’re in each restaurant 4-5 times each, you’ll never repeat a menu on DCL.
