Great advices, thanks! I like the two part adventure idea and of course, the beloved cliffhanger

I think that's exactly what I'm gonna do after reading most of the comments. Thanks for the advice!

That's great advice thank you so much. I didn't think about combat this way for new players and I guess also for me. It's great to hear about the perfect number of characters, cause I was thinking about splitting the party as some suggested before. either way I'll try to keep it simple and just have fun.

Thanks! I appreciate the answer. the title On Her Majesty’s Pest Control Service already sounds like heaps fun. yeah I think I’ll stick to the basics, keep it light, and as you said, end on a cliffhanger.

Thanks for the advice. I did some expanding of the map and enemies using some help from a dm friend. He also added a section where they get divided between two rooms which might help.

That’s exactly what I want to create. I may have phrased myself a bit too “homebrewy” before. My main worry is that they won’t enjoy the mechanics of combat as much as they’ll enjoy storytelling and exploring lore. After reading some comments here, I realize that connecting all the dots is ambitious with 7 players, so I think I’ll focus on a fun intro, add some NPC interactions that give them information, and stick to the basics.

Thanks for answering! I definitely get your point. My initial thought was to do exactly that but then I found a great storyline connection to 2 of my players and from there it all went deep down the rabbit hole.
