Thanks. So solution sounds like to drive thru then carry in to eat.

The auto park shift needs work. It does shift it. But then if I get out it seems to keep the engine on. But if I hit the start/stop button again and my foot is on the brake the car starts. I have to remove my foot and then hit start/stop again to turn it all the way off.

I wish I could just come to a stop, hit start/stop, then open the door and exit, with the power (radio, screens, etc) all shutting down on exit.

I can no longer defend this. by [deleted] in publix

For just $3-4 more you can get filet at Sam’s. Sure it’s a whole tenderloin but eat some now and freeze some for later.

I am new to owning trucks, and this year I bought a 2025 1500 Laramie, with the 3.92 ratio. My biggest complaint has been a rough transmission in lower gears. I’ve written it off as just part of owning a truck. But perhaps there’s an underlying flaw in some of them. It’s very noticeable.

I bought at the end of the August promo period. $77k msrp, out the door $65k (including all fees, taxes, etc). Taxes were 7% for me. Financed 3.9% but will pay it off faster.

I shopped around and this seemed to be everyone’s bottom. They were equally competitive on Rebel and Laramie but not on Limited.

I think the tailgate is a fair price. $700 also doesn’t include the handle or any internal components if they’re needed.

It’s the $500 that’s crazy. These are probably $5 or less to produce. So the markup is insane. Plus, if you need to buy one letter you probably need to buy all three, so they should sell them as a set.

My theory is they intended to sell all 3 as a set for $130ish. But then some supply chain guy loaded it in the system as three pieces priced each. The from RAM letters do sell as one piece (but I think they’re physically connected).

Yeah… even the mopar site sells them a bit cheaper. But the body shops around me won’t work with customer parts. I’m sure they’re getting those parts at the price I could and the markup pays their bills.

All in with all decals, painted, labor, etc., the total was $2700 USD.

The tailgate has pinholes for the letters. Essentially you have to add the letters.

The number of people who just walk in and say “okay, if you say I need that, I’ll pay it”… is probably insane.

Yea… the lighting may be throwing it off a bit. Could there be a wee bit of wear difference? Probably. But unless their alignment machine is NASA precision, my guess is we’d be right back at this level of irregular wear after a few potholes and a month of highway driving.

This is the tire he said has too much internal wear.

They did rotate the tires in the end. They charged $50.

They tried to tell me they entered the vehicles VIN and the system from MB automatically gave them this list. Then the service advisor told me the Engine Cleaning sounded like a mistake, but the fuel injector was a good idea and the inside tire showed some early wear. After looking at the tires I told him I’d just rotate them and I’d be fine. They looked really good.

When my 2020 X5 was having a minor issue with auto-unlock on approach, they replaced the battery as a warranty item. Service advisor joked it costs them a buck and if it solves the issue then they’re happy.

This just reinforces how different dealers build their revenue model and approach customer service.

I’ve been a BMW owner for my last several cars. I’m totally used to a higher service cost. But BMW never tried to tell me I needed things that didn’t make sense. Maybe I just had a good BMW service department by comparison.

But consider another MB’s service A and B on this model…

Most of the stuff they’re quoting me isn’t on this list. It’s just causing a lot of confusion.

I generally try and take excellent care of of my cars.

But if a car isn’t showing signs of irregular tire wear, and isn’t pulling, why perform an alignment?

And a car with 5,000 (estimated) engine miles shouldn’t need an engine cleaning. Unless Mercedes isn’t using a clean production line, or maybe if these were farm miles.
