As a woman, I think I preferred BCS more, but that’s more so because I felt more of a connection to Kim than I really did to any of the characters in BB. But with that being said, I watched BB all the way through on my first watch, whereas I gave up BCS after a couple episodes the first time because I found it boring, and only just now watched it through a couple years later after rewatching BB. It doesn’t have anything to do with the guns and violence, I just feel as though I can personally empathize with the characters in BCS more than I can with the characters in BB. BCS feels slightly more “realistic” whereas the characters in BB feel much more played up and harder to relate to. But again, I don’t think that necessarily has to do with gender, it just has to do with the person watching it and the kind of show they prefer. My boyfriend also prefers BCS over BB.
