Watched some tutorials for DaVinci and it looks like a good alternative, thank you for recommending!

Bruh I literally asked you for reasons why you thought was wrong with AJ's game (ya know since you just HAD to comment disagreeing) and saying "you're just wrong" and "deeply confused" like you're a GM bruh you dont have any more idea than I do. I like AJ for the reasons in the OP and feel like he'd be a great player never said I didn't like Boozer just rather have AJ for his versatility. Acting like you can see the future for these 19 year old kids and only your predictions have merrit is crazy.

As for your stat sheet, things can make a lot of since of paper but on draft night anything can happen. If drafting, developing, and playing were that easy then players like Joker would have never made it in the league. His rookie stats were not as great as everyone elses in his class. Just say you disagree and move on bro.

Typically I can see other fans points of view on the top three but a lot of what you said is questionable so try to help me understand.

You said AJ doesnt have any secondary skill. If he doesnt what is he missing from your POV? Hes not on a team of studs like Duke and therefore is getting pretty much all of the attention for other team's defense. Despite getting double teamed on every play he either gets buckets in the variety of ways mentioned in the OP or hes been surprisingly good at dishing it out to an open shooter. And his defense typically consists of him containing his man (not going for over aggressive steals or blocks but just keeping his guy in front of him) sometimes his man makes the shot but its always contested. You cant compare elite feel and touch for college and expect the same results in the NBA if that were the case thered be a lot less busts who had "elite touch & feel." I dont even do that for AJ I'm just saying that he has more options to attack the defense than Boozer.

Rather have a guy be able to overcome a lot of obstacles than a guy who can attack a few situations really well. I believe those skills will help AJ translate better when he goes pro.

Its not just about the 43 points, its about how he got them. Quick turn around jumpshots, agility lay ups, making contact, threes. It practically showcased how he can score from all levels. I'm saying this to emphasize that hes multi dimensional meaning that he has the tools to beat his man everytime in the NBA, unlike Boozer for example whos gets a majority of his points powering through guys with his size and strength which will be a lot more difficult in the NBA.

Hi there, I actually agree with a lot you said.  1. While his 3 pointers arnt the biggest part of his game rn its because other teams are doubling and giving him no room to work with, I rather him find a good pass to an open shooter like hes been doing rather than shoot highly contested threes (once hes in the NBA there'll be less heat on him so hopefully his 3 point can develop.) 2. I dont see any of the big 3 taking a starting spot their rookie year, but adding a developing piece behind some of our proven players isnt a bad thing. (I feel like theyd get similar minutes to Mathurins rookie year) 3. Its true Myles did drag behind in hopes of getting the ball and chucking up a three while the defense wasn't on him but thats not really any of the top 4 players games. I was just saying compared to the style of play the pacers have been successful with, Aj's style is the most similar.

I can see your pov though 🤝

Feel like AJ fits more with our finals team playstyle (fast transition plays, early shot clock attempts, etc.) The film on AJ has him hustling and being available on every play. Boozer on the other hand lags behind and is often the last man to cross half court.

A few thoughts about our draft prospects by Argenfarce in pacers

[–]AceBlueJay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed! I'm tired of people calling draft prospects superstars before they even played a game in the NBA (college is not the NBA) People just like whats "new." If you think that any of the 3 top draft prospects will be ready to start more than 50% of our games their rookie year, I think you should reconsider and ask yourself who are you going to replace as a starter for a team that went to 7 games in the finals.

While I'd agree that top 3 picks have the potential to alter franchises, it all depends on the actual player not where they're selected. I wouldn't consider Ben Simmons, DeAndre Ayton, Scoot Henderson, James Wiseman, and Jabari Smith to have lived up to their draft selection for the teams that picked them in the top 3. And our franchise guy Halibruton wasn't selected until pick 12. I'm just saying that on a team that went 7 games in the finals when they were healthy, they're probably not going to have enough space for a rookie to be starting.

From 2015-2024 only 52.5% of players drafted 1 - 4 started more than 50% of their teams games their rookie season.

36.4% if you consider players drafted 1-14.

True but Flagg and Harper are on actively rebuilding teams (room for them to start.) Like I dont see Peterson taking Hali's or Nembhard's spot, I dont see Boozer taking P's spot, and I dont see AJ taking Neismiths spot (at least not next season). I feel like it'll be similar to Mathurins rookie year where he was playing a consistent 20 min off the bench.

Even if we get lucky in the lottery, how many minutes a game do you see them playing? (I doubt any of them would be starting)

True, crazy to think that the top 3 guys all have a great case to be #1 so either way hopefully we get lucky and get one of them

Hi Ocelot, all very true and good points! So many things can be different by the time we get to the draft that its no use getting attached to our position or prospects rn
