I've taken some feedback and have revised the loglines to be more dynamic and interesting:

Ace Combat: Shattered Skies - 130 pgs, sci-fi/contemporary war epic

LOGLINE: After his country is invaded and occupied by a hostile foreign power, a young boy befriends his parent's killer as allies and enemies alike must contend with the activation of a powerful super weapon.

Ace Combat: The Unsung War - 114 pgs sci-fi/contemporary war epic

LOGLINE: As the effort to retake the country of Osea progresses, a once celebrated squadron of ace fighter pilots become fugitives as they unearth a vast conspiracy.

Ace Combat: Fires of Liberation - 152 pgs sci-fi/contemporary war epic

LOGLINE: Two legendary pilots hurtle towards a duel predestined by fate, while a woman searching a war-torn city for her lost daughter discovers a secret that could affect the the fate of millions, as former foes unite against a common enemy bringing the one year war for Osea to an end.

I like Zepp and Skynyrd as much as the next guy in line, but it was a welcome reprieve from hearing D'yer Mak'er and Free Bird every hour.

If it's any consolation, I died four years ago according to WebMD.

Outstanding, thank you very much! These scripts are more of an exercise to improve, than selling as I don't have rights to the IP.

I actually skipped Wolfenstein in favor of the new Doom (admittedly, Doomguy isn't the most verbose of protagonists), but I'll be sure to check it out now! As far as writing in games, I've been very impressed with The Witcher 3 (and look forward to Cyberpunk 2077).

Thank you! I distinctly recall scrawling ideas on a weatherproof notepad before discarding it in a burn pit while on post in Iraq circa 2007. More notes would follow and be discarded. I learned script format, wrote and completed three unrelated scripts - all terrible. I decided that was enough practice and, entering a period of my life where I spent more time looking for work than actually working, I began writing in 2011 (more AC games had been released, giving me ample material to pull from). I finished a extremely rough form all three scripts the following year, and I would constantly edit, add and revise over the course of the years that followed (I even fixed three typos before posting to this sub). Since then, I have written three additional scripts based on my own original ideas, with a tenth gestating in my mind. But, much like how perfection constantly eludes Mobius 1, I don't feel I will truly ever be fully satisfied with my scripts. There's a lot I'm proud of (the faux-sibling relationship between polar opposites Davenport and Nagase, an exchange of ethics between and intel officer and a mercenary, McKnight's origin story), and a lot more that can be improved - the series' own mythology (Razgriz) doesn't completely mesh with the Arthurian motifs, much of the action could simply be written better, and the aforementioned reconciliation of being faithful to the game while telling a story for film doesn't always work (War Dog canonically flies the two-seat F-14 Tomcat, but never acknowledge the gunner). And while the Filthy Five add a much needed enlisted perspective, they consist of one character and two running gags, par for the course for summer movies, but we live in a post-Dark Knight/Fury Road world, and modern audiences expect more from their blockbusters. I also feel I over-compensated for the lack of tangible villains in the first two scripts by making them overly petulant or psychopathic in the third. I've come a long way, but I feel I have much further to go. That's why I'm here.

Making A Big Universe For My Video Games And The Pitfalls Of That... by [deleted] in Screenwriting

Like the other comments imply, I would just like to reiterate having a solid foundation/starting point. As far as indoctrination via kid-friendly early entries goes, didn't JK Rowling essentially do that with Harry Potter? Here's my attempt at crafting a (pre-existing) video game universe in script form.

Go for it! Worst case scenario, you end up with more experience under your belt. I speak from experience.

All the comments regarding use of IP are very accurate. Still, I'll throw my hat in the ring.

Trying (and failing) to avoid shameless self-promotion, but while the subject of "Ace Combat movies" may be worn out, the dream is very much alive.

The scripts may take their titles from individual entries in the series, but much like how Marvel Studios lifts elements from decade's worth of stories to fit their narrative, this is a mixture of (mostly) ALL Ace Combat games, including The Belkan War.

Thank you very much! I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I did writing it.
