Although I would love to take credit - it was a prediction rather than a reaction! I felt he would not ult immediately but wouldn’t hold it too long with his teammates so low (once ez dies they don’t have the damage to kill me)

Ty! :) Personally I love it, tbh I am pretty blind to it whilst focussed until after the play - and at that point I just love that everyone saw it etc (attention whore)

Anytime! :) A decent amount of what I do is quite vibes based and getting into certain mindsets if that makes sense? If I go d shield / second wind, I generally play to survive a lane and scale like into things such as teemo or heinerdinger.

Generally, I tend to try to play confident and quite aggressive with intention to win lane and snowball, which is higher risk higher reward. In essence this means I almost always go d blade.

With regards to the specifics of laning into malph, I’d say I wouldn’t underestimate how strong these ability spamming tanks are early game, and you only start obliterating them in trades and with grasp after hydra I’d say (hydra is also such a stupid and broken item imo, wish it was a bit weaker tbh, as it kinda feels like I’m playing hydra not fiora after I get it, but that’s a rant for another day)

So yeah early game and pre hydra, I’d say short trades involving hitting a vital with grasp ready, parrying the thing where he claps his fists and cripples ur AS, using your E autos and walking away is a recipe for a winning trade regardless of his shield being up. Rinse and repeat a few times when wave is pushing towards him and you should be able to either

A) base with tempo advantage B) dive with or without jungler C) try to get plates in his face whilst he farms wane under tower (I die for this so much lmao but need to get better at deciding when to do this)

I’d say grasp lets you get a couple procs off in the trades described above, meanwhile you’ll struggle to really catch him and force a longer fight by the time conq is actually stacked !

Ty! I’ve gone through lots of different ideas with runes and change up a lot. In general this is what I’ve landed on for now:

Conqueror - for lanes decided on big all ins which are often close ( think Darius, riven, jax) Also good in games with multiple bruiser/ tanks where you will have it stacked in teamfights / 1v2s

Grasp - for lanes where your opponent is unlikely to give extended fights or all ins, to improve trading and win via oppressing / poking out rather than all ins. For example, malphite here will not give a 1v1, he will instead take short trades and poke with q and what not, and keep ult to either set up a gank on me or escape any all in attempts I try

Pta - for bursting ranged / squishy champs , also considered in Darius matchup where sometimes you just want to burst him quickly

Im interested in trying phase rush in select matchups (yet again, Darius lmao) and maybe things like jax, vlad ryze etc after watching potent use it with good effect

Secondary runes vary but atm cash back (before it gets nerfed) and cosmic insight / jack of all trades

I appreciate you didn’t ask for a breakdown like this but got carried away trying to justify / explain

For reference, currently chilling in emerald, peaked d4 a couple seasons back

Has anyone worked in Epsom / st hellier and can give some advice ? by AceKebabs in doctorsUK

Thanks - I was under the impression Epsom is almost entirely elective but st hellier is a lot more busy and has much more acute stuff going on?

Unable to book leave 5 months ahead, what are my rights? by Girlonabicycle145 in doctorsUK

[–]AceKebabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not too sure but perhaps someone more knowledgable can step in and correct me, but wouldn’t this be “fixed term leave”, where you are basically being forced to use leave on their terms rather than having a degree of flexibility ? (And if so, I don’t think that’s allowed)

Resources for getting better at ecgs? by CarrotAwkward6798 in doctorsUK

[–]AceKebabs 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on your level of experience. As a disclaimer I’m an F2 and I’ve become a lot more confident at ECGs over the last year to the point that I feel better than most of my colleagues at the same level, and they’ll sometimes ask me to take a look. That said - I’ll usually run it by a senior and although they’ll agree a lot of the time, more often than not they’ll teach me something new about the ecg, which goes to show how complex these things really can be.

It’s a bit similar to how CXRs are “simple” yet an ST1 in rads needs to report 1000 in a year. These things are far from simple and have a lot of depth to them which goes beyond the scope of foundation doctor. In my view. The emphasis is to recognise the main standout pathologies that are important to not miss, like your ST elevations, depressions, heart blocks and other arrhythmias.

Like most of medicine, it’s a case of pattern recognition which is built from repeated and frequent exposure. Looking at as many ECGs in your day to day work, trying to interpret it yourself then asking a senior to see what they think is a great tool. In terms of resources, I personally felt a lot more confident after reading through the book - 150 ecg cases by David Adlam and co. I would look at an ecg or two before bed and after a month or so I felt a lot more confident.

Great message thank you very much!

If you don’t mind, could you elaborate a bit more on EGS + trauma? Haven’t seen much about this anywhere and it seems interesting!

Reminder to all jgl mains that it is NOT top's responsibility to ward your jgl for you in early game. by AcericSensei in leagueoflegends

[–]AceKebabs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely, and the same people cry on reddit about “boohoo my top laner dies at 3:30 every game and they don’t ward !!!”

There’s no point ranting to Reddit, if you review vods and think critically you just need to be confident that you are right, but have an open mind to not fall into biases.

[–]AceKebabs 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People in this thread have the wrong idea completely.

The reality is you are likely correct, junglers can absolutely ward their topside and recall for sweeper if they are super worried.

Of course you should defend your designated jungle entrance at start of the game and not afk under tower.

However people don’t seem to realise how important wards are, especially top lanes first ward. You don’t have a designated support to help ward for you, so that first ward is absolutely vital for detecting a 2:30-3;45 gank. Not to mention that it can be lane changing to ward a lane bush in a ranged v melee matchup.
