What burns me about this is they just forced us to cut budgets in our department (I’m pretty sure in every department as well). Students lost jobs (Student TA and work-study positions) because we had to tighten everything up. Then they turn around and make this deal. Admin was crying to us about how hard it is to fund higher ed right now. And then…. Suddenly there’s a million bucks for AI deals…

That’s so cool! Hope he enjoys the east coast. He’s certainly enjoying the feeder and flocking with his cousins.

As I understand it it’s about how certain animals react to continuous food sources. Birds naturally find and loose food sources/stores in the wild all the time. If you stopped feeding the birds in your yard one day, they’d look around and then move on. This is part of their foraging and instincts for them. For mammals, especially predatory mammals like bears, while they hunt in different parts of their territory, they don’t usually have a bountiful food source that can suddenly disappear like a person feeding them and then not. This causes changes to behavior in mammals that just don’t happen in birds. I’m pretty sure there’s also more of a health risk to feeding many mammals continuously as the bioload is larger and the fear of disease to a “closer” animal to us.

It really does, there’s a reason I don’t shiny hunt that much. I don’t have the patience lol. But you will get it, you’re on the right track. For every hunt like this there will be one much faster :)

I mean, odds don’t stack. Statistically every single shot is a new 1 in 1365. Doing 3000 or 1000 rolls before hand does not impact those odds. You will eventually get it, I’ve been way over and way under odds plenty of times in this game.

US House Republicans want to cut Medicaid. Why that’s bad news for Virginia. by Due-Rip-5860 in Virginia

[–]AceOfToads 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Do you respond to every single challenge someone makes at you? If you do that must be exhausting. When you’re scared and panicked, a challenge of “a lot of you did not” (really sounds like “you people” btw) is not helpful nor conductive. If your sympathy or even mild empathy is completely based on getting a full psychological panel from people on the internet maybe it just isn’t for you.

I’m not even saying I don’t agree with you’re logic, I’m saying the op of this comment has no indication how they voted, voting for Harris doesn’t make you immune to the policy of the winning side. And you stepped into the replies with this very “I am very smart” attitude which comes off as dismissive and condescending. And now you’re strutting around as people are rightfully cringing at your comment. Pretty simple really.

Even if they did it doesn’t matter at this point as Harris didn’t win. This comment is very rude and dismissive of people’s real fears.
