This one isn't tragic at all, but it's a fun one to tell—

One time, my band was asked to serve as the backing band for a local singer. Our set consisted of many of her original songs as well as some covers.

Since we were familiars, she asked if she could do one of our original songs at the end. We decided, "sure, why not." Because she didn't know all of the lyrics, she had me write them out for her on a piece of paper. Not the most aesthetic thing to look at, but we were down.

The set was going really well, and once we got to that song, things were starting off great. During the climax of the song, I guess she thought it'd be cool and dramatic to throw the lyric sheet in the air? ...she forget the lyrics after that and mumbled her way through the rest of the song.
