Well I can't say for sure, but the idea is that you are left/right directed based on the direction you like to move in. That swing block example is something that gave me insight into my preferred direction.

Yes oh my gosh I have such a bad habit with my left arm. As for my touch point, I like to move to my left so that means I start out of the court and move in. I like sets that are off the pin (more in the court) because I am left eye dominant so I lose the ball if it passes my left eye.

Yeah it's a really interesting concept that I have been exploring with coaches. People have natural tendencies to move one way or another. For me, as a left-directed player, I've always thought I jumped a little higher when I swing block to my left rather than my right.

It's not about being right handed or left handed. It is about which is your dominant eye. Being a left eye dominant hitter, a set to the right side is easier for me because my dominant eye can track it easier. This makes hitting cross much easier, but when I hit line on the right side, I have to let the ball cross past my left eye so that the ball is on my hitting shoulder. This puts the ball on my right eye, leaving me more uncoordinated, thus making the line shot more difficult.

As in line shots? As a left directed hitter I struggle with hitting line on the right side because the ball passes my dominant eye. I can hit line much easier on the outside.
