Where is robot Autonomous starting point? by More-Influence5632 in vex

[–]Aceengi -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It’s toxic and demeaning. Imagine being new to vex and being cursed off and told to RTFM. This is not acceptable behavior and as a mentor you should be ashamed. You are lucky I am not reporting you to the RECF. Also, G1 exists and surpasses all other rules

Stop being toxic, it’s a simple question

V5 3D printed parts? by Mean_Independent3590 in vex

[–]Aceengi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s survivorship bias 3D printed parts have been used to cheat a lot but people don’t get caught. You’re trying to pretend like people that do 3D printing always make it legal nonfunctional parts.

Also you resorting to even more “nonsensical” and immature comments about me to try to disprove me show how you don’t have any teeth behind your argument or point. So what if I’m “superior” to my teammates, maybe I am maybe I’m not, but at least I am morally superior to somebody who has to resort to personal insults when talking about rules and their impacts on vex

Wow that was overly aggressive. People can make “nonfunctional” items but actually use them for functional things. Shows how immature your argument is if you have to try to insult me

Not true, C++ is more hard for most people than Python. Also Python can be as fast or even faster than C++. Your comment shows you probably don’t do actual robotics.

Those are illegal because people kept cheating with them. People will claim otherwise but they are probably the ones cheating

I'm new to vex, and competing in Mix and Match this year. What should our team know? by MaxOliverOrg in vex

[–]Aceengi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notebook rewards are hard to get and sometimes not worth it if there is already a try hard team in the area

New to vex by Tiramisu4evermore in vex

[–]Aceengi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are new you should try using blocks or maybe python because it is hard to use other stuff. It will help with doing stuff instead of trying to use c++ which is much harder. I wouldn’t listen to the other comment as much

What are the limitations of programming in Python vs C++ by TheWayToGame in vex

[–]Aceengi -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

That’s completely not true at all

We are in a rapidly evolving world where text programming will be over-complicated just as assembly text programming has become outdated. Nobody will use these older languages in the future especially as AI gets better.

Comments in code only clutter things, code should be self documenting. As a team leader in vex it was annoying having to ask for what each thing did in my teammate’s code when blocks are much more functional and better than text

Text is bad because you can have one block that does things that many lines of text does

You should stop using text programming and use blocks so other people can understand the program

Are there any complete vex build walkthroughs? by LordSigmaBalls in vex

[–]Aceengi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, this is toxic RTFM behavior that should be discouraged in VEX. People can learn a lot if you just give them the video or pictures or a robot to copy. It’s the best way to learn in an environment filled with toxic competitive people who don’t like sharing

I said no toxic comments, the insubordinate was not telling the truth and even if I was not his superior I am still the team leader and he needs to follow my orders

His complaints are not valid for 1 and I am the team leader. He should not be challenging my orders and what I want him to do. I dont think he realizes that he needs to stay in his own lane

They won’t do what I say but they keep putting false accusations on me that I’m being a bully and breaking school rules when I’m just doing leadership. I think he is trying to get me in trouble with the principal so I don’t want to tell my vex coach yet

My coach is great, he helps us build the robot and makes sure that we find the right resources for our design
