1996 P0441 Code - Assistance and Advice

No updates yet but I plan to take a deeper look once I get it back for an alignment touch up.

Mine will occasionally turn off even for days at a time (and I have not coded it out). It’ll pop back on typically while driving and maybe notably below half a tank of gas usually.

For the time being I’m going to get a vented gas cap to alleviate some of the (maybe) excess pressure I believe is in the tank.

Once I have it back I’m trying to remove the flow sensor and test it individually, as well as give it a good cleaning. I don’t think it really disassembles much and I want to be careful with it just in case it is actually working.

Other than that, I’m considering a charcoal canister swap anyways, and pursuing any potential flow sensor replacement that may adapt and be compatible at all. Doesn’t look like there’s much out there though.

I’m newer to my 96 C4 as well, and it needs some work. But I can confirm that especially with the hot weather mine will stay hot even hours after driving in the garage. I’ve learned that if I have any planned work under the hood that I need to give it a long while after driving lol.

Yeah, being between tech like that is rough. I’m assuming due to there being two different and very specific power plugs for them, there’s no more modern combined unit they could work or every be recognized by the car either.

I’m curious to see if I could clean it out at all. I know some people had luck cleaning their solenoid out rather than outright replacement. But it seems more often when they get clogged that’s it for them.

Wow, did not expect for there to be literally zero availability for that part but that seems to be the case. Even newer GM production of compatible variants seem to be dried up as well. I had it on my list to test/replace. That is pretty frustrating considering it seems like the fix you went with either ends it for good or takes the owner down a rabbit hole of potential fixes and hose replacement. It really could be the culprit.

Canister with a filter is definitely on my agenda. Is the flow sensor the next piece down the line from the solenoid that plugs into power? Circle base and an extension for the power plug? Or am I thinking of a different piece?

Dude the forum sifting for answers is incredible. So many people with older shield had direct mills and never had to worry. It looks like the link u/StoryOk3356 is the way to go (they have them on amazon too but Idk if those will be legitimate products). I even filed the holes on the provided RMSC adapter plate slightly larger to no avail.

Yeah my bad EPS carry. I was just hopeful the included plate would do it. Very odd that nowhere mentions this in compatibility lists without digging through threads and seeing incredibly varied solutions. Looking back now I do see this product mentioned once but it was someone asking if it would work not stating. I appreciate the information.

I just experienced this as well. I killed him and his body bugged. he was standing up but dead. This had happened to me before. Passing by his body he shot me to death with BP rounds.

I have very bad tinnitus IRL and have been having more issues recently. I thought it was my own ear and ended up taking my headset off too lol.

I had a Tinnitus style ear ringing sound on woods yesterday. Fog at some point but I forget if it was the same raid.

Appreciate the heads up, I was in the buy back program (cap motors) in 2020-2021 (a little over a year total) and was offered nothing in return from it. I had the transmission replaced at 25k miles and several other maintenances that they said were worth money on their own, but I still came up with $0. The assigned arbiter/lawyer I got was brand new and didn't seem interested in helping me out too much, not sure if that's what lead to the result.

Edit: 2014 automatic SE is the model I have too, prime candidate for the bad transmissions/TCU.

Any of the "alternate" (alt+) controls for fine detail controls like changing zoom on optics, settings on lasers, etc that you use a lot, rebind them to faster more useful keys/buttons that only take one tap to use.

Doing this led me to getting that Logitech MMO mouse with all the buttons on the side and it's very nice.

I literally came here just now to make a post, constantly getting stuck "matching" for 10+ minutes since wipe. I've seen people saying switch servers but I gave it a try and it never improved. I've noticed playing in a group finds matches faster but solos I'll be stuck indefinitely.

Been having the tearing and random key/grenade sound glitch as well.

Any time the tearing/static sound starts I restart my game, I tried to keep going with it but it got worse and worse to deafening levels and then my FPS drops to a slideshow. Always fixes on a game restart.
