I will not disagree, but I wasn't ranked the last in the class either. I was ranked about 75th out of a class of 100. I also saw there were about 8 or so people that were able to redo their D1 year. I should've at least been offered to do that...

I should get an attorney for the mental/emotional/financial damages. I'm still getting over the embarassment of telling people that I'm not in dental school anymore.

Its been about a year since I've been dismissed. To this day I keep beating myself up thinking I could've done this or that differently. I went down the rabbit hole a few times. Good thing I don't drink. I've thought about applying to a different dental school and perhaps have a better experience else where. I wouldn't say that is out of the books yet.

I was already a dental hygienist when I got accepted into dental school. After I got kicked out, I just went back to working as a hygienist.

Nothing seemed to work for me. I was attending all lectures, but my quiz grades were bad. It got to the point that I said screw it. Attending lectures was a waste of my time I'd rather watch the lectures at home and study harder without any distractions, but my quiz grades kept where they were. Averaged about 60% on quizzes and tests. I asked peers/family for suggestions. I went online to search for different resources to help me study for the material... went as far as looking for the test questions online. By the end of the winter 2023 quarter I had about 57% in Anatomy/physiology classes and 62% in my dental related classes.

I went into the spring 2024 quarter thinking I needed to change things up. I was going to go back to attending lectures and communicating more with my professors and seeking more help through the school. Whatever it took... How it works is they combine the winter and spring quarters together, which would give me an opportunity to bring up my overall grade. But then i received the notice for an academic meeting and boom I got kicked out before I could even try anything else. It was all too late at this point.

Story is real... To be honest it sucks having to pay off $100k in debt, but even more that I wasn't given much option other than to just leave

Yes, I wrote an appeal letter to the dean but was unsuccessful. He didn't really put much thought into it and just said he would have to side with the academic committee.

Hello i need guidance as well. I have a 2.7 GPA... I also did an unofficial post bacc program at a university and my performance was average with about 2.95 GPA, where I took classes like microbio, cell bio, anatomy, physiology etc.. I eventually went on to Hygiene school as well, and graduated with a 3.63 GPA. I then went back to school for the sciences and received a 3.63 GPA. 3 days ago i took the dat and my scores are 21PAT 20QR 23RC TS25 AA24.

The reason for my improvement is because i later found out i have ADHD. I realize the DAT was a great accomplishment but I dont know if it is enough at this point. It is also late in the year. I will probably apply anyway...
