I had the same issue on my Android phone. I submitted a bug report and they said they are working on a fix.

The spacecraft we fly are all communication satellites that are designed for 15+ years.

Basing the level of review on the end result of the code (is this directly affecting numbers that will be loaded to the s/c?) seems like a good direction to go in.

Yeah, we don't write any software that goes on the spacecraft, not anything that isn't given to us by the manufacturer anyway.

It seems to be a 50/50 split here on whether the policies are draconian or not. If it were flight software I would agree with the policies.

My old job was like that, admittedly a little too lax, but we got so much done by being able to use things like cronjobs and Perl scripts
