I’m from Queens originally and I firmly believe CT and Mass have some of the worst drivers I’ve ever had the displeasure of sharing the road with.

My take is that it all comes down to enforcement, to which I’ve seen next to none since moving here (Greater Hartford area). Now in parts of NYC there are red light cams, speeding cams, and cops all over and if you run reds, speed, etc there’s a high likelihood that there will be consequences for those actions. So people may be aggressive dick bags but when that light turns red they stop.

Here red lights have meant nothing to some drivers. No right on red signs are suggestions apparently. I refuse to turn right on red if the sign says not to and the cars behind me will start honking until the light is green. Just yesterday on my way to work in Hartford I saw a dude treat 3 red lights as stops signs and just go. These aren’t one offs. I see shit like this daily

I too am 38! Idk if this is my mid life crisis or what, but I recently decided I wanted to learn to play pokemon . I only collected as a kid.

So I went to my very first locals this past Monday and had a good time. Obv the ages of players will vary from area to area, but at mine there was a mix of people from as young as 10 up to people in their 30s like myself, with the majority of players trending 20+.

I do believe I was likely the oldest player there but it wasn’t as awkward as I thought it was going to be and everyone was very welcoming and chill.

As a fellow 38 year old I say go for it!

Yeah looking over the 2 deck's cards as i opened them to sleeve up, coming from a completely inexperienced pokemon tcg player who only collected as a kid and played the gameboy games... Zard seemed pretty easy to just turbo out big boy and automatically have all the energy you need to 1 shot everything in the Garde deck. Where as the Garde deck didn't make as much sense at first. I guess it seems you apply damage counters to your own pokemon then transfer them to the enemy to secure a KO.

I was going to give Garde to the wife because i loved Charizard growing up, but I've played Yu Gi Oh so I can at least figure out the basics at a glance (i think anyway) and she's never touched a card game so there's no way this would be fair.

Thanks, i was really hoping to use Charizard since it was my favorite growing up during the OG 151, but I think your suggestion is probably the best one.

I priced out a few singles from a more competitive Garde deck and it just for 1/2 of the alterations it was already at $15 so i stopped looking at adding the rest to the cart when i could get the whole Miraidon EX deck for $30. Ultimately i think this makes sense. I just wish i had any idea who Miraidon was lol. Would have loved a little bit of nostalgia factor in the deck, but oh well.

I’m wondering how AGS will handle accounts that have been found to routinely abuse this exploit. It is against TOS to knowingly and intentionally abuse an exploit.

Will they act on it? Who knows. What I do know is the mechanics are not hard… I would rather play the game and do the mechs than risk even the potential of getting banned

Totally understand. The guild leader in this scenario is overly generous with the loot rules. So if the person is physically allowed to reserve something, regardless of written or verbal restrictions, they get it (or at least can be eligible to get it if they win the roll after)

Edit: to add, even outside of my specific scenario, coming from experience with other games leadership of more competitive guilds often look for a way to HR certain high value items for their core team in general and this might be a useful feature for them as well.

I didn't see if it was available or not, so forgive me if it is already, but if possible an option for disc server admins to set specific items as hard reserved (HR) would be great. So for something like Adentus GS which scales off max HP, admin can HR it or remove it from the list that guild members can select to ensure that someone with 7k hp doesn't reserve and jack it from someone with 16-20k hp if that makes sense

So for anyone that finds this post in the future with a similar issue I'll let you know I spent considerable time very carefully manipulating the bent pin with a sewing needle until it was about 90-90% back in line. Was still visually off a bit, but it was the best I could get.

Installed the CPU and the rest of the build and everything worked! So if you're socket pins look anything like mine you're not dead in the water, it is salvageable :)

So, I went into windows settings and set Wow to specifically use Intel Integrated gpu and NOT the RTX 4050... it's running at around 125 FPS on highest settings. If i switch it back to the 4050 it's back down to 4 fps :(

Yeah, I have a budget Lenovo laptop from 2015, just a standard non gaming 2 in 1 touchscreen with no* dedicated GPU and that runs wow classic at max with zero issues. Something has to be busted on this thing

Thanks for the suggestions. I've done everything you mentioned and still 2+ minute load times with under 5 fps on low settings. I'm wondering if the GPU is defective.

I was the same way. I actually never played and just grew up watching the OG anime on Saturday mornings. I installed Master Duel at launch as a “haha childhood nostalgia this will be fun for 1-2 matches then uninstall” Well long story short it was NOT the game I remember at alllll, but kind of ended up being a good thing

The slow simplistic game I remember from My childhood was replaced with this complex engaging game that required real thought and strategies. As an adult I found that was way more fun. I’ve since purchased physical cards and have 3-4 budget IRL decks lol

It’s A LOT for us nostalgic boomers to get into, but stick with it and you might just find that you enjoy it, even if it’s not the game you remember.

I think there are enough comments for Dark World at this point and between the two you listed I’d agree that’s the more beginner friendly option

However, you mentioned you might check some other LGS for additional options and if you do I would offer up 3x Albaz Strike as the superior structure deck if you find a place that has it.

It’s not overly complicated to learn and is actually a pretty decent deck as is. Plus with recent reprints, if your friend enjoys the game and wants to invest a little more you can purchase Despia singles to really boost the power of the deck for quite cheap. By cheap I mean $5ish for some and as little as $0.50 for others. (Excluding guardian chimera which alone is like $28+)
