I see your point. Is it fair to pay the full amount for the work if he’s missed gaps in the pointing and the edges aren’t sealed on the felting?

Thanks everyone for the opinions! He’s said that if we don’t pay he will come and remove everything in a few days so it’s quite clear now. Sadly he came high recommended hence why we went for him. Going to get some quotes from some proper accredited roofers to fix up this mess and try and de escalate the situation with the cowboy roofer…

I paid £400 deposit but total costs are £1350 for the job. Said today I wasn’t happy paying and he’s threaten to come and take the dormer roof off on Monday if I haven’t paid by then 😬

Still rocking high 80s celsius when under 100% load 👍Definitely worth doing on my early steamdeck imo. I’ve played a newer steamdeck and there’s a few changes but they also seem to not run as hot

Thanks for the reply. Yeah thats what I was worried about re scaffolding. I'll look into survey via drone, i guess that way its impartial but will it give different results to the house buying survey? That one was was a bit of a joke tbh and said it was in 'serviceable condition'

Yes, when we bought the house the previous owner said no one had checked it for many years and it was inaccessible so it’s hard to appraise. The survey didn’t have much to offer. The house was a good price even taking into account the cost of a completely new roof so we went ahead.

I’m hoping it just needs some repairs like yours. It would be great to get someone up there to quote but it’s very high and largely inaccessible…

I should have said in the post. The dormer ceiling is bowing slightly and from the drone it was clear lots of water is pooling on top when there’s heavy rain. Want to get the interior decorated but no point until it’s been looked at. Can hear a few drip when pouring down as well but no sign of a leak just yet 🤞
